Welcome to the #NewZou | Missouri Tigers Dynasty (NCAA 14)

A new era of Missouri Football.
Welcome to the #NewZou

History
The University of Missouri has a rich football history, beginning all the way back in 1907 with the Big Eight Conference. From the creation of the conference until its expansion to the Big 12 in 1997, the Tigers claimed 12 conference titles in that span. However, in the Big 12, Missouri never won a conference championship. They were very close in 2007, when QB and Heisman Trophy Candidate Chase Daniel led the Tigers to an 11-1 season and ranked #1 in the nation heading into conference championship week. A win against Oklahoma would send Mizzou to the National Title game. However, Oklahoma proved to be the Tigers' achilles heel, handing Mizzou both of it's two losses that year. Once in the regular season, and again in the Big 12 title. Head Coach Gary Pinkel's tenure was the most successful of any coach in the history of the program. in 2011, Missouri announced it was leaving the Big 12 and joining the SEC. Many believed that Missouri had no chance to compete with the powerhouse programs in the SEC like Alabama, Georgia, Florida and more. However, Mizzou quickly proved those doubters wrong. In 2013, just their second year in the conference, the Tigers went 11-1 and won the SEC East, and faced Auburn in the SEC Championship. Yet again, the Tigers were one win away from playing in the National Title game, and again, they fell short, losing to the other Tigers 59-42. Missouri would then return to the title game a year later after back-to-back SEC East titles. This time they would play the Alabama Crimson Tide. Largely outmatched, the Tigers fell for the second consecutive year in the SEC Championship. In 2015, coach Gary Pinkel announced his retirement to begin his fight with cancer. His successor, Barry Odom, couldn't quite recapture the success of Pinkel and the Tigers have been mediocre ever since.

The Future
Missouri has hired former Appalachian State coach Eliah Drinkwitz to become the school's 33rd head football coach. Drinkwitz only has one year of head coaching experience under his belt, but it was a good one. He led the Mountaineers to a 11-1 record, and a Sun Belt conference championship. Coach Drink looks to bring his success, and a new era to Missouri football. He calls it the #NewZou.

Re: #NewZou | Missouri Tigers Dynasty (NCAA 14)

House Rules

Rosters: vikingsfan 2020-21 Roster Update
Sliders: J-KITS NCAA FB Sliders (Heisman) with a few adjustments
Game Length: 8 Minute Quarters
Scheduling: I plan on regenerating the schedule each year to get a schedule toughness of at least A- to keep it difficult. I also will schedule some Home/Away series with certain teams (maybe some old rivals) in the near future.

Recruiting:

- May only recruit 5 and 4 star players that have us in their Top 3 to begin the year, unless they are from Missouri, then they must have Mizzou in their Top 5.
- All 3 star recruits are fair game.
- I also will restrict the amount of players that I am able to sign.
- It will be done like this; however many seniors and other departures I have after a season, is how many recruits I can sign.
- If I sign too many, I have to cut some of those players to make it even.
- Coach Drink's first priority is to recruit the state of Missouri.
- Missouri, Illinois, Texas, and Kansas recruits will be highest priority.

Gameplay and Team Rules:

- Will call plays from the 'Ask Coach' almost 100% of the time to replicate OC and DC playcalling.
- No switching the user controlled player in the middle of a play.
- No redshirting of players good enough to play their freshman year.
- All transfer requests, incoming and outgoing, will be accepted, unless they were a current starter or are a projected starter for the next year. At that point I can attempt to convince them to stay.
- Any player above 90 OVR declaring for the NFL draft must be allowed to do so.

Re: #NewZou | Missouri Tigers Dynasty (NCAA 14)

2020 Season Roster Outlook

- Now that I've got the essential posts out of the way. It's time to start looking ahead at the 2020 season!

- We will start that today by taking a look at the roster, depth chart, and assigning redshirts.

*Redshirts will be highlighted in red.

OFFENSE

Quarterbacks:
- #3 Shawn Robinson - Junior (RS) - 82 OVR
- #2 Connor Bazelak - Freshman (RS) - 75 OVR
- #12 Brady Cook - Freshman - 70 OVR

- Shawn Robinson projects to be the team's starting quarterback for the 2020 season. Robinson transferred into the program last year from TCU. He was denied an eligibility waiver and had to sit the 2019 season. At TCU, he started a total of 8 games for the Horned Frogs across the 2017 and 2018 season. In 2018, he struggled to stay consistent, throwing 9 touchdowns along with 8 interceptions.
- Brady Cook, a 3-star recruit out of Chaminade High School near St. Louis, will be wearing a redshirt this season, as there is too much talent above him right now.

Running Backs:
- #34 Larry Rountree III - Senior - 88 OVR
- #1 Tyler Badie - Junior - 86 OVR
- #4 Elijah Young - Freshman - 73 OVR
- #20 Simi Bakare - Junior - 71 OVR

- Larry Rountree III is one of, if not the best player on this years' roster. He has a good chance to be selected in the earlier rounds of the 2021 draft. Him and Tyler Badie proved to be a quality duo in the backfield in 2019 combining for almost 1,300 yards.

Wide Receivers:
- #85 Damon Hazelton - Senior (RS) - 86 OVR
- #9 Jalen Knox - Junior - 82 OVR
- #6 Keke Chism - Senior (RS) - 81 OVR
- #11 Barrett Banister - Junior (RS) - 77 OVR
- #14 Dominic Gicinto - 77 OVR
- #13 Javian Hester - Freshman - 75 OVR
- #15 Kris Abrams-Draine - Freshman - 74 OVR
- #84 Maurice Massey - Freshman (RS) - 73 OVR
- #10 C.J. Boone - Freshman (RS) - 73 OVR
- #19 Jay Maclin - Freshman - 73 OVR
- #2 Micah Wilson - Senior (RS) - 70 OVR
- #86 Tauskie Dove - Sophomore (RS) - 69 OVR

- The wide receiver group has some question marks. Apart from Damon Hazelton, a grad transfer from Virginia Tech, where the rest of the production will come from is really unkown. Jalen Knox had a great freshman year with Drew Lock, but had a down sophomore season, plagued with drops. He will try to bounce back this year. Keke Chism, a grad transfer from DII Angelo State, looks to excel in the SEC and get noticed by scouts. The Tigers do have some young promising receivers, one that stands out is sophomore Maurice Massey. Massey didn't get much playing time his freshman year, but performed well when he did. Freshmen Kris Abrams-Draine, Jay Maclin (cousin of Mizzou great Jeremy Maclin), and Chance Luper (son of Offensive Coordinator Curtis Luper) will wear redshirts this year.

Tight Ends:
- #82 Daniel Parker Jr. - Junior - 77 OVR
- #80 Messiah Swinson - Sophomore (RS) - 73 OVR
- #89 Brendan Scales - Senior (RS) - 72 OVR
- #88 Logan Christoferson - Junior (RS) - 71 OVR

- Missouri's tight end group may be one of its weakest positions after the departure of Albert Okwuegbunam to the NFL. Daniel Parker Jr. recruited as a DE out of high school, will assume the starting role.

Left Tackle:
- #64 Bobby Lawrence - Sophomore (RS) - 76 OVR
- #54 Luke Griffin - Freshman (RS) -73 OVR

Left Guard:
- #79 Larry Borom - Junior (RS) - 81 OVR
- #73 Mike Ruth - Sophomore (RS) - 76 OVR
- #66 Jack Buford - Freshman (RS) - 75 OVR

Center:
- #55 Michael Maietta - Senior (RS) - 86 OVR
- #77 Thalen Robinson - Sophomore - 76 OVR

- Michael Maietta is a grad transfer from Rutgers, and was one of the best offensive linemen in the Big 10. He fills a big hole after Trystan Colon-Castillo left for the NFL.

Right Guard:
- #59 Case Cook - Junior (RS) - 81 OVR
- #72 Xavier Delgado - Sophomore (RS) - 77 OVR
- #77 Drake Heismeyer - Freshman - 72 OVR

- Freshman Drake Heismeyer will get a redshirt this year barring any injuries on the offensive line.

Right Tackle:
- #50 Hyrin White - Junior (RS) - 77 OVR
- #76 Mitchell Walters - Freshman - 72 OVR

DEFENSE

Left End:
- #39 Chris Turner - Senior - 82 OVR
- #49 Sci Martin Jr. - Senior (RS) - 78 OVR
- #99 Isaiah McGuire - Sophomore - 70 OVR

Right End:
- #28 Jatorian Hansford - Junior - 82 OVR
- #93 Tre Williams - Senior (RS) - 81 OVR
- #92 Z'Core Brooks - Freshman (RS) - 69 OVR

Defensive Tackle:
- #78 Kobie Whiteside - Senior - 92 OVR
- #97 Akial Byers - Senior - 82 OVR
- #90 Markell Utsey - Senior (RS) - 78 OVR
- #95 Chris Daniels - Senior (RS) - 76 OVR
- #96 Darius Robinson - Freshman - 72 OVR

- While the defensive line lacks any real standout players, it is a very experienced group. 7 out of the 11 players on the defensive line are seniors. Darius Robinson, freshman DT will wear a redshirt this season, and will become a prominent player once all these seniors graduate at the end of the year.

Left and Right Outside Linebacker:
- #32 Nick Bolton - Junior - 96 OVR
- #25 Jamal Brooks - Senior - 76 OVR
- #22 Aubrey Miller Jr. - Junior (RS) - 75 OVR
- #33 Chad Bailey - Sophomore (RS) - 74 OVR

- Nick Bolton is one of the most underrated players on this Missouri football team. He was excellent in 2019 and is quietly being projected as a first round draft pick in the 2021 draft. We better enjoy it, because this may be Bolton's last year in Columbia.

Middle Linebacker:
- #56 Devin Nicholson - Sophomore - 78 OVR
- #40 Cameron Wilkins - Junior - 77 OVR
- #29 Jamie Pettway - Freshman (RS) - 74 OVR

Cornerback:
- #8 Jarvis Ware - Junior - 82 OVR
- #14 Adam Sparks - Senior - 82 OVR
- #23 Ennis Rakestraw Jr. - Freshman - 76 OVR
- #24 Ishmael Burdine - Freshman (RS) - 74 OVR
- #3 Jaylon Carlies - Freshman - 69 OVR
- #10 Chris Mills - Sophomore (RS) - 68 OVR
- #5 Chris Shearin - Sophomore - 67 OVR

- The CB group is pretty thin this year after our best corner Christian Holmes transferred to Oklahoma State. Freshman recruit Ennis Rakestraw will likely see playing time seeing as the position is so thin, and is one of the most promising prospects for Mizzou. He chose Mizzou over offers from Alabama, Texas, and more.

Free Safety:
- #18 Joshuah Bledsoe - Senior - 85 OVR
- #31 Martez Manuel - Sophomore - 71 OVR

Strong Safety:
- #9 Tyree Gillespie - Senior - 89 OVR
- #7 Stacy Brown - Sophomore - 76 OVR
- #4 Jalani Williams - Freshman (RS) - 75 OVR
- #26 Aiden Harrison - Sophomore - 68 OVR

- Tyree Gillespie is the best and most experienced player in the Tigers' secondary. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Walters will rely on Tyree to be a leader for the defense.

Kicker:
- #30 Harrison Mevis - Freshman - 76 OVR

- Harrison Mevis was the 8th best kicker coming out of high school according to 247 sports. With Tucker McCann graduating, and no other kickers on the roster, Mevis will be starting his freshman year.

Punter:
- #86 Grant McKinniss - Senior - 82 OVR

- There we have it! Now that we have taken a look at the roster, next we will reveal the 2020 schedule and take a look at our early recruiting board for 2021.

Re: #NewZou | Missouri Tigers Dynasty (NCAA 14)

2020 Schedule
Got caught up with life and wasn't able to continue this, but found some time and I am ready to get this dynasty rolling! With that said, here is the 2020 schedule!
Missouri Tigers 2020 Schedule
DATEOPPONENTRESULT
Sep 12vs Virginia Cavaliers
Sep 19at #6 LSU Tigers
Sep 26at BYU Cougars
Oct 3at Louisville Cardinals
Oct 10vs Vanderbilt Commodores
Oct 17vs #4 Georgia Bulldogs
Oct 24at #8 Florida Gators
Oct 31at South Carolina Gamecocks
Nov 7vs #25 Tennessee Volunteers
Nov 14at Kentucky Wildcats
Nov 21vs Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders
Dec 5vs #13 Texas A&M Aggies

This looks to be a tough schedule for Drinkwitz's first campaign as head coach of the Tigers. He will meet five ranked opponents, luckily only two are on the road, at #6 LSU and at #8 Florida. The Tigers will open at home against the Virginia Cavaliers, who went 9-3 last season, losing to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game. They went on to lose to Florida in the Orange Bowl, so this team is a tough matchup for week one. Trips to Baton Rouge, Louisville, and Gainesville highlight the road games. The Tigers will host Georgia, Tennesee, and Texas A&M in what look to be big matchups. Time to get this season underway!
