As a GROUP, we decide on playing an OLDER, more STABLE version for Madden online play

I saw a video or a still yesterday, forgot where, which shows a lot of people are playing Madden 17 online now instead of 2021. They also, apparently, have downloaded updated modded rosters for THIS season for that game in the community downloads.

Regardless of which version of Madden, should we all now play an OLDER version of Madden online, in exhibition mode, or maybe even career leagues using modded rosters for this season, instead of 2021?

A couple of things would happen if we did:

1.) EA would see people are playing online an older game vs. their newer game. Hey, we're playing Madden, just not the new version.

2.) While all Madden games have bugs of some kind, we could all decide on the most "stable" version of the game to play. And we'd get our football fix in, somehow.

If we all did this, which version of Madden for the current consoles would be the best?

I could be wrong on this list, but confirm, and let's pick one?

Madden 16
Madden 17
Madden 18
Madden 19
Madden 20

You guys should attach your tvs to your computers, get Madden 20 on PC, use mods and play that instead.

A buddy and I had recently been playing an ongoing Connected Franchise in Madden 17 on PS4. Within the last couple weeks, seems like they’ve shut down servers or something. Constantly get error messages about EA servers, and I haven’t been able to load into the franchise anymore for a week or two now.

Not sure how much longer they’ll be supporting any given old game. Especially wouldn’t be surprised if they make old games less playable if people openly start organizing drives to push players to play old games instead.

If it’s a game old enough to have already had MUT deactivated, in particular, (so there’s no money to be made anymore) I wouldn’t count on moving to older games to be a viable path for long.

So, what happens if the consensus on the list you offered is 19 or 20?

18 is the best in my opinion, I bought 21 and I already deleted from my ps4.
