What the Technical Dir. for DIRT 5 says in this video is exactly what EA needs to do.

Check it out. He talks about giving the player options, and not wanting to lock them in to an experience they might not like (such as 30 fps). The relevant segment ends at 20:14.

Bring back dev play days and remove some barriers between you and the fan base and get the real feelings of the community.

What real feelings of the community? The game already sells better than UFC 3, and most people of the particular community that you speak of (because hardcores are fewer than casuals and are not the majority, like you seem to think) bought the game despite their "feelings". Can you not understand that this is a profit driven business and most people, casuals and hardcores alike, supported it?

People bought undisputed 3 hand over fist and buried ea mma. It was undisouted that made thq go bankrupt. They did it on a much smaller budget with better results

But... You talked about interacting with the current developers (which you already get to do) in order to get the feelings of the community across. Your original post had nothing to do with competition from other game companies.
