Stealyerface's ProSim Slider Set 2021
Well, '21 is here, and although there are some guys that are angry about the omissions this year, I am LOVING the new game play, and without a doubt, the Pinpoint Pitching is the highlight of the year for me.
For those that follow my sliders, I strive for realistic results, and I want the user to be in control of the game, but I want the game to represent the speed, and the look of an actual game.
I want fast guys to be out on a grounder by a half a step, I want mid-rated speed guys to be sliding into second on a ball to the wall, just as the ball is arriving... In essence, I want the game to play the same way it plays in real life.
I'll skip the long intro that I write every year, explaining my testing and reasoning for the slider adjustment, and I'll get right into it.
I am playing games on All Star, and I feel the game doesn't "cheat" the user like it seems the higher skill settings do. All Star seems to have a great ebb and flow, and with these sliders, you WILL need to pitch carefully, as well as making sure your defense is set for each batter's tendencies.
If you are going to play JD Martinez in left field to make sure his bat is in the lineup, you WILL pay dear consequences for leaving him in the game defensively, as his foot speed is really evident with the outfielder speed slider adjusted down.
I have played 20 games of testing, and have played with the same lineups and pitching matchups as the real-life counterparts played that particular game.
I am 11-9 in those 20 games, with some pitching duels 2-1 and 1-0, and some slug-fests where the teams combined for 20+ hits per game.
The new fielding is so good this year, very few hiccups in the field, and I LOVE playing defense and pitching, especially with Pinpoint Pitching. I'll have write up on dominating your games with some very interesting tips on manipulating your pitcher to really get the ball moving, and dotting the corners with your aces.
But for now, here is the 2021 version of Stealyerface's ProSim Slider Set.
Enjoy!

As with last year, play 8-10 games before you make any crazy conclusions, as these sliders are about trying to match the gameplay look and feel of the real games.
You'll see some big blowouts, but the next game, guys will struggle to get solid hits.
My overall goal is to have the different outcomes of each scenario, play out as realistically as possible. My feeling is that if you load these sliders up and really concentrate on making defensive shifts, outfielder positioning, and being a smart, and able pitcher, you'll really have fun with these sliders.
Let me know how you make out, and above all else, have fun and enjoy!
