How often do you blow saves?

I blew a save against the Pirates which was deflating lol. I went into the top of the 9th with a 3-1 lead. The Pirates heart of the order scored 4 runs before I even recorded 1 out. I felt like how could this happen? I know it happens in real life but in a game it makes you question the AI and what I could’ve done differently.

Re: How often do you blow saves?

More times than I care to admit ! It is very frustrating. In hindsight, I usually think of what I could have done differently, like maybe I should have seen he didn't have it that night and should have removed him before he completely blew the game. Or maybe I should have mixed up my pitches better (in the zone, out of the zone, more offspeed less fastball etc etc)

The better the closer, the less chance for blown saves. But I'm always trying to save money somewhere that's why I tend to be grooming future closers and paying the price for it LOL

"YOU'RE AN INANIMATE ****ING OBJECT!!!"

Spoiler

I don't have an answer to this question that I know off the top of my head, but I just wanted to state that I find it interesting how I poo-poo on MLB managers insisting on throwing their closer so long as it's a save situation, regardless as to whether it's the most opportune time to secure that victory and other victories onward... and yet I do the exact same thing in-game. Of course, I'm playing a video game, and they're playing real life. Pad wins boys, not stats.

EDIT: "I'm sorry for calling you an inanimate object."

Re: How often do you blow saves?

I played a Met 162 game franchise using quick pitch. Edwin Diaz is Mets closer with 35 saves 8 blown saves and 2 wins 7 losses on season. I play every game. Mets out of WC contention, 2 games behind Braves for NL east lead. Last 3 games vs Braves, win all 3 or go home. I win 1st 2, game 3, up 3-2 going to 9th Edwin Diaz gives up back to back HRs. blown save #9, game and season over. ouch. realism hurts!!

I think the emphasis of his post is not on "save" but on something else... Just a guess.

Re: How often do you blow saves?

The pitcher/batter analysis tool is extremely useful in the game and recommend referring to it, especially later in games to see how you've been pitching to a particular hitter, how he's handled certain pitches, locations, etc...

Just wish it was more readily accessible instead of having to go through the pause menu.

Wish they would replace PLAYER QUIRKS on the D-pad with the PITCHER/BATTER ANALYSIS TOOL.
