Nope, just no. Any article about video games using NFTs is an immediate nope from me and I encourage everyone else to ignore these products and make their creators know that we have no interest in NFTs infecting our video games. Stay the **** away.

You would think game companies would stop with the NFT scamming. Companies like Ubisoft and Square Enix that have backed NFTs are losing money because gamers aren’t supporting that garbage. The biggest flaw of NFTs are once the server goes down, you lose your item as proven in that Ghost Recon game. Also, to be honest they have no value. Do not support games that push this, there’s already more than enough micro transactions in games.

NFTs are an interesting concept to me. Its clearly just another way to monetize everything with the only real winner being the original provider ie the publisher.

The only value they carry is based solely on supply and demand. Its a clear attempt to try and capture the essence of physical sports memorabilia or card collecting but digitally. The most essential part is the demand and there is no way that the demand can exist for a game like this. The player base will be miniscule. Which makes any NFT in this game a fugazi. Worthless.

On top of that, there is an expiry date on these NFTs. When the game ceases to exist so will the NFT. Real memorabilia will always have value and the value only increases the older it gets.

I'm old so I fully accept that maybe I just don't get it but seems like just another way for these big publishers to monetize things for their gain. I really hope NFTs don't get much support.

NFTs are a ponzi scheme and do not belong in video games or anywhere else.
