Re: OS Forum "Life Hacks"

Just thought of another one because I just did it:
  • PM box getting full, and you want to archive them? If you check their boxes, at the bottom of the page you can select to download them as a certain file type (XML, CSV, or TXT) and save them on your computer to free its space.

The thing that sucks about the 10 character work around is you can't see it on Tapatalk. I guess the /url messes it up where you can't see any of the message.

Even if you do it on a new line?

I haven't tried this ever myself, so I'm not sure.

(also as a flip phone owner, I don't have Tapatalk)

Re: OS Forum "Life Hacks"

I posted this in another thread but I'll mention it here too.

You can make the text box bigger on computers. The double up and down buttons on the toolbar does that.

When you first mentioned it, I didn't even notice that's what you meant. I thought you were talking about the drag icon on the bottom right of the text box... which of course you can then fine-tune to your liking, including width.

Public Service Announcement:

The best way to post a tweet (which only contains text, no photo/video/gif) in these forums is to embed the tweet.

To embed a tweet simply go to tweet and click on downward arrow in the upper right corner of the tweet.

Click "Embed Tweet".

Click "Copy Code" or go to the code and copy it.

In OS Forums paste the code.

Hit "Go Advanced".

Delete any gibberish.

And post.

Re: OS Forum "Life Hacks"

You can save Advanced Forums Search settings by hitting "Go" where "Save Search Preferences" is displayed at the bottom of the page when you put in what you want.

This is good in case you're like me and really only search items "by entire post" instead of "by thread title" or view results "by entire post" rather than "by thread title." Things like that.

Basically, you can save any of the drop-down tab items if you want to change anything, plus the "number of posts" option. Anything that goes into a search field will be wiped out, however (including the forum/sub-forum you choose to search in).

Now I wish I had a way of bypassing the 15-second search rule, haha.
