This is a hard final to root for, just as the semis were lol, I'm so used to pulling for the US players, and I usually go in favor of Madison because it's so cool to watch her mash away when she's on, but I like Sloane too so I'm basically cool with a result either way and just hoping for an exciting match

Re: Actual Tennis

Nadal just totally kicked his play into another gear after the 1st set tonight. I think he handles Kevin Anderson in 4 sets too in the final. Another Grand Slam title for Nadal in my opinion & maintains his #1 ranking as well coming out of this tournament.

It's crazy how strong he's come back, he looked nearly done a couple years ago, now he's dominating again (on multiple surfaces)

Re: Actual Tennis

Nadal won major #16 and is quite a bit younger than Federer and looks great. It's a real possibility he ends up with more majors than Federer which seemed crazy even last year.

Yeah. It's a possibility now with the way he is back playing. I would have never thought that a couple of years ago.

Re: Actual Tennis

Sam Querrey made a solid showing for US Tennis at the Open. That was needed. Jack Sock played well too. Those two guys are our 2 main US guys playing the best right now with Isner being right behind them & being ranked higher than both of them. I think Sock has the most potential of the 3 but Querrey at almost 30 now has picked his game up in recent tournaments.

As far as the young guns in the US(18 & under) I don't see anyone that could make a run in the near future towards the top 5. Maybe a couple could crack the top 10 or 15 by 2021 or 2022 but not a dominate player in the younger USA core that could be like a Federer, Djokovich, Nadal, Murray, or even older US players like Sampras, Agassi, McEnroe, or Connors. Thanks.

Re: Actual Tennis

He's had a much more up-and-down 2017 than I expected, but Taylor Fritz is still the young American I think has a great chance to be the next really solid one. He has loads of talent and potential, but so have so many others in the last decade or so. Tiafoe has the talent too.

Yeah. These are the young guns that have a chance to make it towards the top for US men's tennis.
