2k Banning Chris Benoit Face Texture Uploaders

I just wanted to give those of you here that had any plans of uploading, or have already uploaded a version of Chris Benoit with Face Textures to the Servers, a heads-up.

I'm beginning to think THQ going under and 2K getting the WWE license is going to be the eventual downfall of the series.

I think WWE has 2K under their thumb with some of the changes they've made and stuff like this. It feels like they've been able to completely dump the series as being a true wrestling game and turning it into a WWE game (which is fine, whatever).

Gone are all entrances from past games for past wrestlers.
Gone are all move sets of previous wrestlers.
Gone is the ability to create arenas.
Gone is the ability to create custom stories.

I think the WWE truly got their wish with 2K. The WWE series is now just that -a pure WWE game that makes it incredibly hard to recreate any brand besides WWE.

2K produces the best gameplay in a WWE game in almost a decade.

2K is the worst thing ever for the series.

I said this over on the 2k forums and will repeat here, Benoit is still on the Network can watch nearly all of his matches yet can't have him on a game? Ridiculous.

They want to cut down on sharing creations of a guy who is best known for murdering his family. Makes sense to me.

These aren't one in the same. The Network has shows presented as they were (minus obvious things like music licensing) and keeping his matches in that historical context is different than having him featured in new content.

There's a reason he doesn't show up in Network search results, and that's because they're not going to promote him. I know a created wrestler isn't the same as WWE directly putting him in the game, but if they don't want him shared, that's what it is. It's odd that this hasn't been enforced in any of the games since the incident though.

Obviously stating this as the reason someone was banned is just going to call more attention to it and invite more people to upload his image. Ideally there would be a privacy setting when uploading images, for situations where someone would want to create something for their own use. As it is, you have to upload and delete right after downloading, which isn't difficult but still leaves them open to a ban in cases like this.
