BIG TRADE!

After the hire of new GM Austin Stewart, Rondo has requested a trade. Reports say that the hiring of the new GM screams rebuild and that Rondo wants no part in it. The Celtics have traded Rondo for Russel Westbrook.

Press Conference
GM: "I came into my position ready to build a championship caliber team. I believed that the pieces were ready. Rajon Rondo believed it was time for a new direction in his career, and out of his wishes, we respected that. Never in a million years did i think we could acquire a caliber of a superstar like the man sitting next to me right now. I would like to formally welcome the newest member of the Boston Celtics, Russel Westbrook(RW). Lets give him a round of applause"

RW: "I would just like to thank the Boston Celtic organization for bringing me here today. I had heard speculation of being traded, but to be brought to a team who has so much history like the Boston Celtics is truly a blessing man. I would like to thank the Thunder for being a first class organization and treating me well thru ought the years but I am extremely excited for this new beginning. I would like to thank all of my fans who have followed me throughout the years and hope that they continue even though I am on a new organization. I would like to thank Mr. Stewart and Coach Stevens for having the faith to trade a star player like Rajon Rondo for a player like me. God is good yo."

GM"You guys may begin with questions."

News reporter(NR): " What brought the trade about exactly?"

GM: "It was alot of things. Rondo is at a different point in his career. He has won a championship. He wanted to go to a team that could win a championship. It saddened me to hear that but this is the NBA. Anything can happen. But when I threw his name on the trading block, I got alot of offers, the only one within reason was the one the thunder offered. Russel Westbrook is a future hall of famer. And so is Rondo."

NR: " Russel this one is for you. Were you having issues with the thunder prior to being traded. Mr. Stewart sees you as a hall of famer, so it would only appear that you were having issues to get traded."

RW: "I mean im just hungry for W's man. Coach Brooks is a great coach but we just didnt match eye to eye, and when we lost it frustrated everyone, including me."

NR: " What happens if you lose here? Do you and coach stevens match eye to eye?"

RW: " I do believe so. Coach stevens recruited me when he was an assistant at butler. I remember him calling me, promising me the keys to the castle. I had no clue who butler was and i didnt want to hear what he had to say, but the way he planned to feature me at butler, is very similar to what he has in store for me here."

NR:" Whats the difference between coach stevens and coach brooks?"

RW:" As a point guard i understand the importance of facilitating that rock to my teammates. But if i see something open for me, or another teammate I should be able to do that. Coach Brooks wrote up the plays and wanted it to be how it was written. The man can coach and nothing against him but it isnt a perfect world. And here. the coaching staff trust me and gives me the ability to free lance here and there. That means the world man, i cant wait to get out there with my teamates and just ball!"

NR:" How do you guys think you will do this season?"

RW: "Im focused on the Nets in 4 days. Ill tell you that answer at the end of the season"

GM: " And thats it for today folks. Make sure to come out for our home opener against the nets!
