So It's that time of year again and I usually buy the NHL series game. After reading the write up on and doing some research it's only average at best. What's everyone's take on this game. If you've bought it what are you seeing in it you like or don't like? I always play the offline as I'm not hooked up to Xbox Live anyway. I'm thinking with the changes they've made it should be decent although not spectacular. I'm playing on a 360 anyway so won't get the really nice visual effects. Be a GM Mode is what I actually play on so as long as it's still there. Let me hear your thoughts.

The real questions are what is the last year you played NHL and how much are you willing to pay for an update? NHL 15 on 360/PS3 is nothing more than a glorified patch. However, lots of the things they patched needed it. If you're coming from NHL 12 it's probably worth it for the new skating engine. However, if the game you have now is fun to you and not stale, then I'd save the money and get something else.

Here's a list of things that got looked at in NHL 15:
puck physics (doesn't bounce as high on dump ins)
Player progression (supposedly)
New commentary (although I haven't heard flattering things)
AI tweaks (don't know specifics)

I don't have the game, but I've heard mostly positive things about it. Hopefully that helps you out some.
