SERIES PREVIEW
ATLANTA BRAVES @ CINCINNATI REDS
Game 1 - Tim Hudson (2-2) vs Bronson Arroyo (3-1)
Game 2 - Mike Minor (3-1) vs Homer Bailey (4-1)
Game 3 - Paul Maholm (0-3) vs Mike Leake (3-2)
Cincinnati -- Tim Hudson reached a milestone on Monday night when he earned his 200th career victory as he led his Braves past the Reds 5-3. Hudson pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, but was able to pick up the win thanks to a big 6th inning offensively for the Braves. Bronson Arroyo fell to 3-2 in the loss after getting pulled after 5.1 innings giving up 5 runs of 7 hits.
The Reds scored the first 2 runs of the game on solo home runs in the 2nd inning by Ryan Ludwick and Jack Hannahan. The Braves tied the game up at 2 in the 5th on a sac fly by Chris Johnson and a RBI double by Justin Upton. The Reds recaptured the lead in the bottom half of the 5th on a RBI single by Shin-Soo Choo, but it would be the top of the 6th that would decide the game. The Braves were able to rally for 3 runs in the 6th on another Johnson sac fly and a 2 RBI double by the young Andrelton Simmons. The lead would prove to be enough as Craig Kimbrel would come on in the 9th to shut the door for his 6th save.
