Yeah that a gut punch to the players. I don't know if the players had to get vaccinated. If they did. That would suck that the coaching staff went against that.

It really depends on the offer for accommodation. Laws and precedent are very clear on the issue and his exemption was approved. If they require him to do something he hasn't been doing in the past year, there is established precedent that says he should be able to continue doing the same thing now.

He also could just be suing to get paid and not care about getting his job back.
