Re: College Football Off Topic

I'm really curious to know what direction MSST goes to replace Mike Leech. I honestly thought he was the best kind of coach you can have at a program like MSST. He's not going to have you competing for NCs every year, but he might mess around and accidentally win the West one season and challenge here and there.

Being both a Florida and a Miss St fan I can tell you the expectations are wildly different for both programs. He really seemed to best fit the expectations of realistic MSU fans.

But, I do think it's a good idea to use the Portal to supplement immediate short term needs.

That's why I'll follow what Colorado will do. We all know Prime can recruit. But, would like to see how well they do and much they can pull in from Portal. I hope he puts an emphasis on getting good OL transfers and not the ones from JSU.
There will be a cap on portal transfers? This is my ELI5 reddit question of the month.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I think Arnett has been named the new full-time coach.

All I know is these next 2 years will continue to be uncapped. Not sure if it is a wait and see approach. For me, I do think there should be some type of cap. I'm not opposed to freedom of movement, I just don't want it to feel like Free Agency. But, I do like the idea of more teams being competitive. I have been somewhat following theTransfer Portal. A team like Arizona is doing a good job with the Portal so far.

I just think having some type of cap, would force schools to pick and choose which players to go after. Which would actually make it more intriguing.

Cap like what? Scholarships they can permit each year via the transfer portal?

Yes. It doesn't have to be extreme. But, having unlimited seems like too much. I think USC and TCU had like 20 transfers and a few more had over 15. I think a cap of 10 would be good number

He has been, but I'm not exactly sure that's the droid we're looking for in Starkville.
