It looks like MTSU and WKU are bailing on the CUSA to join the MAC after all. CUSA gonna have to step their game up to get their numbers up.

New rankings are some of the worst yet, imo.

Every year I care less and less about college football. Im tired of seeing a UCF or Cincy scratch and claw to undefeated records, with a solid win or two, while teams like Bama can coast the ENTIRE SEASON and still make the playoff. Legitimately nothing could possibly make me lose interest faster.

Re: College Football Off Topic

I would have put Michigan State #2, Oregon #3, and Bama #4.

OU is at #8 and I have no issues at all with it.

I follow every snap and we are actually closer to losing to teams like Tulane and Kansas than the box score actually illustrates.

Need a miracle against Texas…

Beat WVU by 3 at the horn…

Barely beat a bad Nebraska team because they kept imploding.

It’s been ugly.

Re: College Football Off Topic

I think the committee is rooting hard for a Cincy loss.

The only logical chance for that to still happen is vs SMU.

I have an opinion about Alabama here but I'll keep it to myself because it's just going to be seen as biased.

I'm pretty confident Bama is going to get waxed by Georgia if they get to the SEC CG, so that #2 ranking is just a place-holder.

The overreaction to these first rankings is always so fun. The committee is just making **** up as they go. The first ranking isn't a reflection of anything that might come in December.

You admit it yourself, the committee just makes stuff up as they go. I think that's where the frustrations with them come from. The overreactions are not just reactions to this sole ranking release, it is cumulative over the years.

One day we're told conference championships are essentially required to make the top 4, the next year we are told that is no longer the case, then we are told records matter and losses hurt, who you play matters, now they're just making things up to rank some of these teams above other like Cincinnati.

I love the chairman saying outside of ND who else have they beat. Who has Bama beaten that puts them above Cinci while having a loss also? Is it 4-4 Florida? Is it Ole Miss who the committee has ranked below ND?

Some of this stuff will play itself out and that's fine, but the committee appears to get less and less competent each year.

Most fans just want what a team does to be rewarded and for all teams to be judged the same way. Clearly that isn't the case. The committee has made it clear that what happens on the field isn't everything they're concerned with and they'll gladly pick a team they're perceive as better even if they have to disregard resumes to do so.

This is college football, the beauty of it was the cinderalla stories, the upsets, etc. What happens on the field matters. We all know Bama is a more talented squad on paper than anyone else in the nation, but they lost and there are undefeated teams still ranked behind them. Wake Forest likely would get beaten by multiple scores by Bama, but who cares, they haven't lost and Bama has, reward them.

Re: College Football Off Topic

I completely agree with you. That's why I'm saying it's an overreaction because in reality the rankings yesterday mean absolutely nothing in terms of what will happen in December.

Be upset if/when Cincinnati is undefeated on December 15 and ranked 6th. The rankings today are completely arbitrary
