Re: College Football Off Topic

According to a "Big 12 source", apparently Kansas has been having internal discussions about trying to join the Big East in 2025, and going independent in football.

A lot of those rivalries are going to be ruined. I didn't mind NIL, Transfer Portal, and conference realignment. Everything just feels different and just about the money

Re: College Football Off Topic

The Big Ten just accepted their applications.

They join the conference in 2024.

Wow, absolutely shocked. This came out of nowhere.

Wonder what schools will follow. Maybe the other Cali schools and Oregon/Washington?

At the rate things are going, there might not be an ACC in the mid 2030s.

If I was a betting man, in the long run, Stanford and Washington are slam dunks to also get invites to form a Western Division of the Big 10. Oregon and Cal are wildcards. Oregon athletics are top notch, but the Big 10 probably will look down upon their academics. Cal has elite academics, but Football and Men's Basketball are just not very good right now.

Colorado and Utah better run to the Big 12 ASAP and probably the Arizona schools with them. The Big 12, becomes the 3rd best football league. the And just think, we left the Big 12 for dead last year. Yikes

Well, the conference owns ALL of their TV rights until then. Including Notre Dame's Basketball too. So they don't provide a lot of value to the SEC or Big 10 as of now until their TV deals are up. It would cost well over a 100 million to get Clemson or Miami or North Carolina out of those deals before GoR is finished. This is why Texas and OU are still waiting until 2025 to move to the SEC as of now and why USC and UCLA are able to move in 2024. ESPN and Fox are driving this bus and everyone else is just along for the ride.
