Fifa 14 Youth Academy and Player Growth

Found a couple real gems recently.

A RB who is the first really physically skilled player I ever found. Came in with 97 Spd and 95 acc, 80 sta, and was really good attacking too. Started over 80 ball control, crossing and dribbling, over 90 short pass. His defensive attributes were all 50's and 60's so his overall was only a 73 but he could also play RM which is where he is dominant.

The best overall player I've brought in was a Spanish RM who was a 79 when I signed him at 17. Average physically but very high in all important technical skills.

Very happy to read about the bump on May 1st that you guys are experiencing. I am still in the first year of my Career and I have a bunch of recruits with decent POT but their OVR is pretty terrible, like 58-62 is the general range and I've been unable to find one higher than that!

Is anyone getting a lot of Keepers if they scout for "Any"? I seem to be getting about 50% Keepers, 25% midfielders and the rest attackers and defenders.

Does youth scouting bug out for anybody else after like 5 or 6 seasons? My scouts only find like a couple players or none at all.

It has been mentioned previously, but goalkeeper growth progression is a serious issue. Have played three seasons with AC Milan and Leali as the keeper, not one GK stat has moved. (Still at 72 OVR).

Also, it seems any player besides the central attackers (CF, CAM, ST) have severely stunted growth. Example, have Ogbonna, Ranocchia and Pogba, who after three seasons are at 82, 81 and 81 respectively.

And I've pretty much won everything

Anyone else experiencing the same?

Have you tried starting another career mode to see if you get the same results?

Ok so I have one little question. I think someone said that the youth players only progress 3 points every year once they are on your senior squad. Is that the average or max? I would guess its the average, because I just had one player progress 4 points in one season. He was 69 when I signed him and now he is 73

Hi Sayla, thanks for your reply! Yes I have attempted the same this evening, this time with Ranocchia, Pogba and Bonilla (GK, starts at 74, 85 potential).

Same result. Very slow player progression anywhere outside the forwards, and the GK hasn't moved an inch.

I also bought Adryan from Brazil, hasn't budged from 70.

Something weird is going on.
