Well about Shane Lechler, he has just as many Pro Bowls as Ray Guy and 3 more All Pro appearances. But Guy isn't in the Hall of Fame, and I dont think Shane will go in either. At least not before Guy. Punters just aren't recognized in that way. Can he be the first? Sure, but I doubt it. Does he deserve it? I believe so. He was all decade for the 2000's. But it could just be the culture of the sport and how punters are recognized that keeps him out.

I don't foresee any punter getting into the HoF any time soon, K Morten Anderson who owns a lot of kicking records for example will get into HoF eventually but it's going to take a lot of time imo.

I don't have a vote either way on a punter.

Just a suggestion but you may not want to post the new guys in the OP going forward, may as well just make a new post.

I just think that as this thread grows in pages it would be more economical to just make a new post rather than to direct people to the OP.

Not sure about punters. The only punter I know about is Brian Moorman. Do punters actually make the hall of fame?

Following on what Kehlis posted, hitting the most recent post button lets you go to the newest post you haven't read... that gets lost if we have to go back to the OP to see the new question. Should be okay to go back to the OP to see the tally but putting the next guy in a new post is probably easier to follow.

Don't really have an opinion on punters. I don't think one will ever get in... won't feel bad if one does.
