fngb3's NBA 2K12 My Player (PS3)
Maybe I'm strange and get into things too much but I always find myself looking for detailed accounts of people's My Player or Association experiences. There's something even more entertaining when there's even a touch of theatrics behind it a la Chris Smoove over on youtube.

So I have a My Player that I'd like to share the career of but with more detail than the general My Player Thread can handle. I type a lot so it's probably going to be mostly for the crowd who like me can manage to get some kind of weird fix by reading other people's stuff and taking in a lot of content.

As I figure out how to add screen shots and the like I'll go back and polish the entries but for now I feel like just dumping a whole bunch of entries out cause my guy is already like 7 seasons into his career. I'm going to do one entry per season until I catch up to where I am then I'll change the format to more detailed stuff about my ratings and indavidual game performances. The pace change should be nice for anyone who gets bored with the first several entries.

Fair warning these entries could also be spotted with whatever observations or thoughts about basketball in general that hit me. Please don't bother mentioning they sometimes have nothing to do with my player. Take it or leave it.

I've decided to pretend I'm writing these entries as a sports reporter who is covering my My Player's career. It only really comes into play when I do a super long interview-style blog entry in my My Player's 9th season.

Here's a short clip from Reel Maker which is unfortunately as long as Reel Maker allows clips to be made... 16 seconds.

The Magic finished their season as the number one team in the East with over 60 wins. Ion missed six regular season games due to a right ankle sprain, an injury that had cropped up several times throughout his career, a small concern but one the team doctors still kept a close eye on.

The summer of 2017 was the grandest free agency period since "The Decision." Some argued that this one had even more drama, more twists and more impact on the shape of the league than the defection of The Chosen One seven years earlier.

The NBA had never in it's existence seen ... Read More

By all accounts the Orlando Magic assembled one of the most talented, well fitting group of forwards in the game yet somehow turned in a disappointing 2014-15 season.

ESPN spent the summer months detailing exactly why, with an offseason and training camp to gel, Orlando's big men were going ... Read More

In the summer of 2014 Ion Falls moved to Florida to join his new team the Orlando Magic. Since shaving his head the previous year he had let his hair grow into a short afro. Falls walked the streets of Orlando looking for a tattoo parlor to add some ink. He eventually came away with a large and detailed ... Read More

A lot of people seem to struggle with teamate grades, winning games, and in general having positive impacts on the game beyond scoring.

While it's very fun to be able to score in any and all ways your player is always only going to be able to ever put the ball in the basket one way on any given posession. To some degree it's great to be able to hit a three and dunk but you can never do both at the same time.

A lot of people like to up every kind of scoring ability so ... Read More

The 2013-14 season began with exciting news for the 15th pick in the 2011 draft. Ion Falls had been named starting small forward for his Indiana Pacers. To commemorate the change Ion had shaved off his dreads and started the season with a short stubble that grew into his natural waves by Christmas ... Read More

When Ion Falls came out of college in 2011 he was a guard in a big man's body. His array of shot abilities were the most complete, average proficiency in fadeaways, pull-ups, spin and stepback jumpers. His dunking and layup, and post abilities were poor, his dribling only barely better at mostly poor to ... Read More

Wanted to take a second to discuss the fastest and most efficient ways to accumulate skill points.

I know this annoys a lot of people but I would recommend mostly playing key games. Obviously you make less skill points per season. You could probably be 99 overall by the end of you second year if you play every game, but if you want to double your points and get out of your rookie contract you pretty much need to play key games. Also not playing every game gives your player a slower, ... Read More

Ion Falls made his NBA debut with the Indiana Pacers on November 2nd 2011.

Loping out onto the floor with dreads pulled back in a tail, Falls made a respectable use of his time in his first ever NBA game with good shot selection and no turnovers.

Coming off the bench behind Danny Granger and Paul George initially didn't leave much PT for the kid. When he got on the floor ... Read More

His name is Ion Falls.

He entered the NBA draft as an 18 year old just off his freshman year at UCLA. Dreadlocks, no tattoos, a penchant for t-shirts and worn sandals, Ion looked very much like a great many young men after their first year of college only seven feet tall. He didn't start in his year as a Bruin but showed signs of the work ethic needed to truly shine in the professional arena, and possessed the raw physical gifts that make NBA clubs swoon.

Even if he never ... Read More
