Jarrod Washburn said he doesn't know what he's doing. The simple answer is the Seattle Mariners starter is winning and so is his team. The Mariners look to continue their strong start, win their seventh straight road victory and record their first sweep of the Los Angeles Angels in three seasons on Sunday.
Washburn (3-0, 1.71 ERA) comes into the series finale searching for his first 4-0 start since 1998 - his rookie season, but even that took six outings to accomplish. After a 5-14 finish ... Read More

Albert Pujols put everything he could into the pitch from Cubs rookie reliever David Patton, and the result was hardly a surprise.
Pujols hit his second grand slam of the season and surpassed 1,000 career RBI, sending St. Louis to an 8-2 victory over Chicago on Saturday.
"I hit that ball really good, I'm not going to lie to you," Pujols said. "That's all I got. I hit that ball as good as you can hit a ball."
Pujols drove the first pitch from Patton in the seventh inning to ... Read More

Carlos Silva hasn't won an American League game since April 17, 2008.

To say things have not gone so well for him since last April, when he posted a 3-0 record during this first month of his first year with the team, would be a slight understatement. It's hard to imagine anyone in the Major ... Read More

On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Angels started their seventh pitcher of the young season - matching their 2008 total. With Anthony Ortega scheduled to make his major league debut, the Angels are expected to top that mark Saturday night.
The 23-year-old Venezuelan will try to get the Angels back on track as they continue their three-game home series with the Seattle Mariners, who are looking for their longest road win streak in three seasons.

The Yankees shuffled their injury-riddled roster before Saturday's game with the Red Sox, summoning infielder Angel Berroa plus pitchers Mark Melancon and Dave Robertson from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In corresponding moves, the Yankees placed right-hander Brian Bruney on the 15-day disabled list with a strained flexor mass in his right elbow and infielder Cody Ransom on the 60-day disabled list with a strained right quadriceps. New York also placed right-hander Chien-Ming Wang on the 15-day ... Read More

I'm not sure what Garber was thinking, Yankee Stadium attendance is usually never a concern, they almost always have a full house and secondly, Im not sure many fans etc etc really care about Yankee attendance, unless he was just trying to get under Levines skin......anyway, it went like this ....Mention those empty seats at Yankee Stadium at your own risk.

Injuries have made contending in the American League West a major challenge for the Los Angeles Angels.
"Right now, we just have to hang on," said injured Angels starter Kelvim Escobar. "We have to hang on until everybody's ready to come back."
Escobar was supposed to be ready to pitch by the end of April. But after some inflammation in his shoulder this spring, that was pushed back.
"They told me my arm was fatigued," he said.

1. Fenway Park, The Green Monster Seats
When the new Red Sox owners announced in 2003 they would add 294 seats atop the most fabled wall in sports, New Englanders winced. Boy, were the fans were the fans wrong.
