Part One: 1991 NBA FINALS Bulls vs Lakers

So here we are, a project that will be years in the telling but i`ve made a start. The Chicago Bulls of the 1990s were the first truly modern NBA dynasty as the decade progressed the era of free agency being a big thing grew and in fact the Bulls took advantage of that with a key player in the 2nd half of their run. However now, let us focus on the beginning with some background at first....

I know Notre Dame made it look good last night but really in all honesty they played like crap and I guess now is as good a time to look back on what has been plaguing this program for years.

Like it or not Notre Dame is a Legacy Program. They're ALWAYS going to get some kind of scrutiny but in my not so humble opinion the pressures and expectations put on ND over the years has finally caused the program to start circling the drain. To me, there are three things that hurt Notre Dame ... Read More

Whoa a blog entry from me. I know don't freak out

I FINALLY got to see Trouble Man last night. This movie has to be one of the most slept on blaxploitation pics i've seen. I thought Robert Hooks was pretty bad arse as Mr. T. I also saw a couple TV faces too! Gordon Jump (Mr Carlson from WKRP) was a spineless criminal on the streets and William Smithers (Jeremy Wendell on DALLAS) ... Read More

The Winter Classic has become the Super Bowl of the NHL world. I'd love to say that Gary Bettman deserves some credit but the reality is this wasn't even his idea. The whole basis of what has now been dubbed the Winter Classic was started in 2003 as the Heritage Classic in Edmonton between the Oilers and Canadiens. The Powers that be in the NHL decided to co-opt the idea and suddenly make it their own.

Anyways first here is the blurb from TSN.ca and here's the text:

I bet you thought this feature was dead eh?

Here's a totally obscure song to me at least. This is Sammy Davis' version of the Shaft theme. I tell you I don't know whether to laugh or cry over this but it's well, unique to say the least.

OK before you stop reading this let me just say this isn't your typical "bash Tebow" argument i'm making here. This is a little different from my usual "I don't trust any QB in a spread system" argument. This is more about the psychological aspect and hinges on whether a team in the NFL will let him play QB.

Tim Tebow may be the greatest QB in college football history, certainly i've never seen or heard of any QB that has dominated the college ranks the way Tebow has. This can be ... Read More

....Because CN is doing a Looney Tunes marathon on New Year's Day as a test run to see if there's enough interest in putting the WB cartoons back in rotation on CN or Boomerang. Now I realize most of you will either be hung over or watching the Bowl games but if any of you have Nielsen boxes have that TV tuned into CN.

I mean, most other countries in the world has the classic WB shorts showing somewhere yet in the US it's not being shown AT ALL. That has to be some kind of crime or ... Read More

Well a small part of it at least.

So Christmas Eve I experienced full blown kidney stones. Let me tell you it was the worst thing ever. Now to please Mr. The C i'm not going to go into TOO much detail

Let's just say I had chills, fever, so much pain that I felt like death was an option and crawling to my toilet bowl to puke and then laying on the washroom floor for 20 minutes crying my eyes out.

Yep, not exactly the best X-Mas Eve ever.

This has to be the least festive Christmas in years. I usually kinda like this time of year and all but it seems like real life is just sapping my enjoyment of it. It's been a rough year not only personally for my family and I but in the world in general. The whole economic downturn has really taken some of the joy out of the season. All you hear about these days is people losing jobs, the auto companies looking for a bailout and charities struggling even more then usual.

On the homefront ... Read More

So I know i'm way late on this but the point I want to make brings up race and that's taboo in the forums so I'll make my point here. This is about the Auburn hiring of Gene Chizek. Chizek's record as a head coach is, well mediocre to put it best yet he was chosen ahead of Turner Gill. There were reports before the Chizek hiring that Gill was one of the favorites for the job but apparently those in charge of the Auburn Athletic department didn't interview him or even made serious overtures. ... Before we get to the highlight of the week on my little blogspace I need to bitch about my sleeping pattern. So I go through stretches where I can't sleep at all at night and then I end up sleeping at 7-8 AM and wake up around 3 or 4 PM. I can live with that but then I go through seemingly longer stretches like the one i'm in now where I can't even stay up past 9 PM! I invariably wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep. This plays havoc on me and I hate it.

Being a Bills fan is like being a "cutter". You know, those kids that like to cut themselves all over because they're always depressed and effed up. Yep, that's what being a Bills fan is like. We love the team so much but we seemingly always get rewarded with heartbreaking losses like today.

JP Losman is one of the worst QBs i've ever seen play at the NFL level. He makes David Woodley look like Joe Montana. That's how bad he is.

As for Dick Jauron? I don't know how ... Read More

This is more thinking out loud then a definite opinion. In fact, I hope observers of the Falcons could chime in and tell me if i'm going in the right direction or totally out to lunch.

I've watched one complete game (The Bears game) and bits and pieces of a couple others and have come away very impressed at Matt Ryan. Let me say that I was one of the few defenders of Ryan when he was drafted and it's nice to see him having such a good rookie year. There's something about his cool ... Read More
