I am concerned that this team is becoming a bit large...the potential for sabotage grows. Although as long as we don't send the entire team on one mission we mitigate that to a degree.

I agree, Charles, too large of a team makes little sense. Pietro joined with the original group. Assuming that the original invitations went out properly.

And how do you propose that we discover who the traitors are? Are you privy to that information already? If so let us know and I venture we will all attack to the fullest extent of our powers. Otherwise you may well be unleashing the full extent of your power on someone who may be of use in finding the traitors. Until we have more information to work with I will be very suspicious of anyone wasting more energy than necessary on attacks that, more likely than not, will be against loyal servants of Apocalypse.

The "plan" which you are proposing gives all traitors an easy out for the first attack. We learn nothing of their ties by doing this. What bothers me even more would be someone who would so quickly agree to this plan of attack, too quickly in my opinion.

Alright, on teams:

We're not going to be picky on any of the invite stuff. The main thing we're looking for is that we have a bolded post saying that you've joined a team. If someone tries to join a team that doesn't want them, that person will not be looked on kindly by the powers that be.

If someone joins a team and some portion of the team doesn't want them to join or wants to kick someone out, vote on it - majority rules, in case of a tie that person is out of the team, because teams are about unity. However, for teams that are formed and maintained by mutual consent, all we need is posts saying that you have joined or are leaving - keeping track of nominations is not necessary.

And if you join a team as the first member and then no one else joins after you, that's fine. We'll just laugh at you. :P

It was bound to happen sometime ;)

The point of the new accounts is to allow people to play incognito, if they want, and avoid the player history that has developed over the years. If you want to break the wall, or accidentally break the wall, and everyone finds out who you are, that's not against the rules. However, everyone coming out and saying who they are, or witch hunts to that effect, would probably be frowned upon. You're free to speculate, give yourself up, or whatever else you desire along that regard, though.

Vision
10-06-2008, 03:34 PM
Should I be offended I am not invited to this "strike squad" Vision?

Not at all, Professor. Allow me to restate my intent, as perhaps I wasn't doing my thinking "out loud", so to speak:

I believe, within the framework of this world, there are nuances to our actions, and it is clear that each of us, loyal and disloyal alike, would have particular strengths and weaknesses.

The Surfer, Hulk, Magneto, I, and assuredly others as well, have abilities which manifest themselves as otherwordly power, of a physical or direct nature. Reed Richards has proven himself numerous times to be equal to the enterprise of standing in the way of Galactus' designs.

Others among us, let's use Punisher as an example, are not as suited to this task. Punisher is supremely suited to getting answers from people, and taking lethal action when it is called for. Place Punisher in the way of Galactus, however, and we will fail to effect so much as a shrug or a blink.

Now to the mission brought to us by Mister Sinister. Would we dispatch the redoubtable Hulk to such an effort? I'd think not. Hulk has strength on the scale of the very gods. One does not use an axe when a scalpel is called for.

To sum up my... vision... of your role, Charles, I'd say that the current mission requires an accomplished telepath. This appears to be covered by the Fifth Prelate, Ms. Grey. I see your talents to be invaluable toward helping us find our enemies right here at home.

And, should you or someone else find cause to distrust an individual among us, and put forth a compelling argument to their guilt, rest assured... the power of the Vision shall be brought to bear!!!

Magneto

This is a fair summation of my thoughts, as well, Ms. Frost.

Vision

This is why I feel that smaller, four man (or people for you ladies out there) teams, are compelling. If a mission is sabotaged, we've definitely got a very narrow pool to draw from. The larger are teams and missions, while more powerful are also more at risk for a traitor hiding in the ranks.

This idea has merit.

Vision
10-06-2008, 03:45 PM
I think the optimum configuration would include ONE of our strongest telepaths on this mission, as well as several others - Quicksilver for example, and perhaps Nightcrawler.

Yes, and some muscle as well. Nightcrawer is an excellent addition. What say you to, perhaps, Iron Fist, or Silver Samurai, in case things go South in terms of getting into a pitched battle. Although, I don't recall either of them checking in yet...

Magneto
10-06-2008, 03:46 PM
ooc: the rules indicate that team sabotage "will be known publicly." Can the powers that be tell us whether that means the identity of the traitor is known, or just that the mission was sabotaged? I expect the former if anyone survives the mission.

KangtheConqueror
10-06-2008, 03:48 PM
I have to say, this whole team thing has me a bit perplexed. While I definitely think we should be trying to take advantage of team bonuses and what not, actions that are detrimental to the village which are done as a result of team stuff will definitely get my attention -- and quickly.

I also see the benefit of smaller teams as suggested earlier.

The "plan" which you are proposing gives all traitors an easy out for the first attack. We learn nothing of their ties by doing this. What bothers me even more would be someone who would so quickly agree to this plan of attack, too quickly in my opinion.

While I saw little merit in the initial plan put forth by Ms. Frost, I also did not see it gain any traction. I think you're, in effect, trying to board a ship which sailed days ago. Or burn a ship, play the analogy any way you like.

In any case, though I thought her original idea was flawed at best, and distracting at worst, I've since found her input to be thoughtful and thought provoking.

You, Aardwolf, have not made the same impression on me. Coming from out of nowhere to advocate randomly attacking each other with full power?

Should the Hulk and Doctor Strange obliterate Professor X and Nick Fury, as I'm sure they might be able to, in a single blow and without any reason? Honestly, you might be wise to restate your intent, or perhaps to remain silent so as not to bring further unwanted attention onto your absurdities.

And yes, I agree, I'm just wanting to prevent the wrong-doing before we let it happen. I don't think this is a game the village will win by being passive.

I think we have 30 people and a 5 man team should go here. Too many and I think any saboteurs get lost in the shuffle. Too few and we risk not successfully completing the mission. Not that I know 5 is some ideal number, but it seems right if the team is constructed well.

As I have now fully resolved my inner perplexation at the situation we have found ourselves in, I have noted what I perceive are some interesting patterns developing.

Certain members of our commune are taking rather extensive means to ingratiate themselves to the perceived leaders of said commune, as opposed to paying the due amount of respect to those whom are actualy seated in positions of power. While I am far from disputing the power and authority of both Magneto and the Professor, the deference paid to them and their ideas while having had little or no guidance and input provided by the Prelature is, in my humble (though hardly unqualified) opinion, a subtle form of disobediance towards our Lord Apocolypse.

However, I do not fault Magneto and Charles for this per se, but more, I find the actions of those who seem overanxious to ally themselves with those with a reputation for leadership to be the more suspicious.

It would appear to me that in this particular arena Charles and Eric have no more jurisdiction over our actions than anyone else, and blindly following them into action could prove as detrimental as attacking Galactus unaided.

Further, I have considered the prospect of individually attacking one of our fellow Disciples with a minimum of force to be illogical. First, we have no knowledge of each others abilities other than the preconceptions of our previous encounters. Mutation is a constantly evloving condition, of which I am living proof. The ability to secretly amplify or transfer damage could be possessed by any number of our thirty. I think it is an extremely dangerous proposition to request a minimum damage be affected on all of us, giving opportunity for the traitors to ambush some who may be perceived as weaker of fortitude.

Beast, do not mistake lively discourse with active members of our cadre with deference.

Erik and Charles are valued among us, and I deem it wise to seek their opinion on such matters, remembering always that their allegience, while implied, is not yet proven.

As my friend Firebird has said, do not mistake us to be honed only on religion, nor is it a neccesity of the Brethren. Merely it was a way for us to connect in the first place. I agree that we should not have too many large teams, and it seems there will be some loners who prefer to work alone at all times, which is understandable. it would benefit us to complement our strengths so as to build a coherent and capable team - I would be most pleased to see others join, and I second the invitation to you, fair witch.

Beast, do not confuse deference with allegiance. Lord Apocolypse knows the difference very well. Following the leads of Magneto and the Professor does not link in any way to disobedience to our lord and master. In fact, by allowing Eric and Charles to take the leads in getting things moving we are in fact souuprting Apocolyps' directives to handle the situations that arise which would or could slow down his empire's growth.

Fomenting distrust and creating doubt where there is none yet to be found on the other hand. That could indeed be counterproductive.

I do though grow tired of all the yammering about. Post the rosters of the teams, let us get on with our missions.

Also, the dialogue with Charles being fresh in my mind, I'd like to state again that exclusion from this list should not be construed as a slight, nor at this point an indication of mistrust. It is only my initial attempt to gather a team with a skillset focussed on this particular job at hand.

I am not questioning the concept of your allegience to Apocalypse, simply your wisdom in following Charles or Eric so blindly at this point in our combined endeavor. I am merely suggesting a more cautious course of action since we do not know the true intentions of anyone. Failing to hold some doubt where prudence demands some would be equally, if not more counterproductive.

My meeting with sources inside the human resistance went well. I feel they are the verge of collapse and will continue to apply pressure from the inside. I am continuing to take them down from the inside.

Under Apocalypse rule I am reforming the organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. This organization will confront the human and superhuman threats to our new world order. S.H.I.E.L.D will be the forefront espionage and law enforcement agency for lord Apocalypse.

Our agency is predominantly filled with agents who are normal humans loyal to Apocalypse, but we are opening a new mutant division. If any of you are interesting in forming a small team for this division, let me know. You will operate as a self contained division for the most part, only having to report to myself and thus Lord Apocalypse if there is a need for intervention.

The input from Nick Fury intrigues me. I do not know how much of what he says we can take at face value, but he certainly seems to have a great deal of involvement with the goings-on of our world.

I'm interested, though with the way he has seemingly implied that he has direct-line authority to Lord Apocalypse himself, bypassing our master's chosen prelates.

Nick, I'd like to hear more about this "authority" to recreate team S.H.I.E.L.D., and exactly how the reporting structure would work. I know I haven't, nor has anyone else publicly, gotten any sort of authorization of this sort in my instructions from above.

I am not a prelate nor do I have the power that they do. I, like the others here do not have the consent of Lord Apocalypse in forming a new organization. What I have always had and will have is results. I have and will continue to demonstrate my loyalty by helping to bring down the resistance and find and kill those who are treacherous to our lord. The resistance is close to crumbling and it's time to rock and roll and bring them down.

I'm not going to sit around drinking a Dr. Pepper while these traitors run free.

After reading through the rules, Hoopsguy are all of the prelates assumed to be good? Can only good guys be added as Prelates later if one dies? I either missed where that is covered in the rules or it was not mentioned.

All of the Prelates are assumed to be good, in the same way that everyone in the game is presumed to be good :) As in, be careful what you assume. Remember, the game started with a Prelate (Moon Knight) being captured.

Adding Prelates - the people with the power to name Prelates have the information on how this works in the event of a death. I'll leave it up to them to share those details if they so desire.

Prudence should take precedence over haste. This statement would have made more sense, at, say 10 AM this morning. But I cannot argue in its inherent truth.

But as the mission deadline is at 5 AM CST and I must rest before striking out. Without a countermanding order from Apocalypse or our Prelates, now is time for action.

Limiting the team to 4 or 5 members seems wise, so I would suggest we keep it to that.

Emma Frost has commited, so the team has one telepath.
Magneto Commits to Mission to Recover Mutant Telepath

Charles, you and Prelate Jean Grey need to decide amongst yourselves who will accompany us. We have all generally agreed that at least one of our greatest telepaths should remain behind. I leave that decision to you and your greatest pupil.

Colossus, your strength would be welcome, and likely necessary should we meet some opposition.

My son, Quicksilver, has sought to join us, and his unusual powers may well be useful. His sister would be most valuable as well, should he wish to defer to her.

These latter points are my suggestions only. And in all things, I defer to the will of our Lord Apocalypse and our Prelates.

Well said Beast, but neither would our lord Apocalypse want us to be mindless cows chewing grass in the pasture, waiting for he or his prelates to give us our orders. He expects us I'm sure to organize ourselves to the best of our abilities and be ready to act when He requires it. It is only natural then to listen to those who have shown a natural talent for leadership and organization such as Xavier and Magneto. Of course they shall be watched as we all shall be, but there must be some level of trust and organization amongst us or there will only be chaos and failure. And we know what the cost of failure will be for us.

Now then I trust you heard Mr. Fantastic's earlier thoughts on creating a team of a more cerebral bent? If he is still interested in such a team, surely you would be a good addition to it with your fine work in genetics and medicine. Would you be interested in joining such a team?

Sabotage = public reveal of the saboteur.

The price of sabotage is clearly quite high, as I am sure any revealed saboteur would have difficulty in surviving the day. Because of this, I am not sure that a second team is necessary for the recovery of a single mutant, even one with the powers that this one may have.

Since members of the mission I am undertaking at my Lord's command will be using more energy then most others, I do not believe that anyone will want to enter into missions on consecutive days without a compelling need.

Tyrith
10-06-2008, 09:11 PM
The way the missions work, in terms of who goes:

Whoever wants to go on the mission needs to post in the thread that they're going. Any number of people can go, regardless of team affiliation, but remember, it does use up your special ability for this day/night cycle. Then PM us with the amount of energy you are going to spend on the mission - if you do not send a PM it is assumed you are spending 1 energy.

The same rules apply for going after Galactus each day, it is just a distinct mission.

Tyrith
10-06-2008, 09:13 PM

Not team in the formal sense, understand, but I mean that they are all working together, excepting the possibility of sabotage of course.

Professor, I had this thought as well, though I have been a vocal proponent of the five member cap, I am anxious to view our results and judge from there.

In the case of the mutant mission, the price for failure could be high, both in terms of our lord's reaction, and in the damage it would do to our efforts to liberate this region in the name of Apocalypse.

With regard to the Galactus mission, it is my sincere belief and hope that the five of us will make positive difference on that front, and I think it may even be something of a free look at the mechanics of the mission. I believe this because of this passage in our instructions:

In the event that there is not a day kill (excluding Day 1) Galactus will move one day closer to devouring the planet.

Thus it would appear that even if our combined might iis not enough this day to hinder his actions, at least Galactus will not "move one day closer" to our destruction.

I fear though in such an early confrontation that I might not be as prepared to confront him today as I will be in future encounters, but I think by taking him head on, we will be able to gain an idea of what type of power we are facing here and better understand what resources it will take to properly defeat him.

Mr. Fantastic joins Galactus Mission

Reed, correct me if I am wrong (or don't, as you deem best) but I'd like to ask, do you have a special ability to create a mahine to help drive off the Eater of Worlds? One which requires you to spend days working at it?

If so, and if it is best that you decline this mission to have time to work on such a machine, I believe we can find another worthy companion to assist us.

ProfX, that is the same group I see since the group was "re-formed" in Post #265. Prior to that, Colossus had also intended to join.

I've never seen EmmaFrost join either iteration of the team. No accept from Scarlet Witch either.

Teams, based on my version of events. Please chime in if I'm missing something:
1.) Brotherhood of Mutants: Magneto (#265), ProfX (#267), JeanGrey (#307), Quicksilver (#309)
2.) The Brethren: Firebird (#175), Nightcrawler (#176)
3.) Strike Squad: Vision (#189), Mr.Fantastic (#314), SilverSurfer (#315), Hulk (#328), HumanTorch (#350)
4.) SHIELD: Nick Fury (#338)

You are all yowamushi!

Weak, pathetic. You seek the company of the team for you fear your doom lies in your own inadequacy.

I am Silver Samurai. I seek my own counsel, and I work alone. I will not join a team.

But I will lead a team of like-minded individuals. We do not fight for each other. We fight for ourselves. But our goal is one, and in that way, we will be united.

That goal will be to stand as that stalwart force, that agency of power which will stand alone against the rebellion when those others to weak to stand long have fallen.

It is to our detriment that my earnest friend, my bitterest enemy, Wolverine, is not here with us now. He would decry your meek flocking as loudly as I. Only he ever stood as a strength in solitude as I do now.

Join my team, but remain yourself, not a slave to any one else's needs, but the call of our duty. We do not work together. We work alone. But in joining the team, we agree to focus our individual energies on the mission at hand, the elimination of the rebellion threat.

My team is CHIKARA.

The Force, in Japanese.

Any such attempt to ambush would be revealed after the fact and would inevitably reveal the traitor. I would consider a one-to-one trade off to be a very favourable result.

Given the time needed to properly implement this plan I think even with wholesale agreement it will be impossible to carry out now. Fortunately we have had some discussion today which should, at least, ensure that we are not flailing around completely blindly.

So far I have only been able to ascertain that the following will take part in the respective missions. I suspect it is too late

Mutant recovery operation - Emma Frost (249), Magento (361), QuickSilver (369), Colussus (376), Beast (Ordered by Mimic - 388), Firebird (396), Gambit (407)

I can find no commitment by Jean but we shall find out soon enough whether she has decided to join our group.

Galactus Mission - Silver Surfer (391), Mr Fantastic (395), Vision (403)

Again the Human Torch or Hulk are going on the mission. If they aren't then this group probably require a few more members.

First, Prelate Mimic, I thank you for your faith in me. I would certainly aqueisced to accompany those attempting to detain the telepath with a simple request on your account, but as I was not in a physical position to respond, I happily and respectfully followed your directive i went to bed

However, due to causes that we are unable to specify at this time, the mission was unsuccessful.

We were met not only by a psionic force that was powerful enough to overwhelm my somewhat substantial skills at aeronautical flight prior to reaching our destination, but upon alighting through the assistance of Magneto, without whom I can only imagine we would have perished, we were also assaulted by a force of humanoids.

I refer to them as humanoinds, as opposed to humans, as they were bipedal primates of the Homo Sapien species. "Were" is the operative term in that statment, as whatever humanity they once possessed had been stripped away, along with their eyes. They assaulted our position relentlessly and without regard for their own safety. It is unknown at this time who or what was in control of these creatures. It is known that they prevented us from reaching our goal.

It sounds like you each, to some degree, were responsible for fighting off some of the adversity. Is there a particular point in the mission where any of you guys/gals thought that things were ultimately turned against you or was it too much from the get-go? I think I made that question clear, but basically I'm asking where you thought the tipping point was, it might be a place to look.

As for the undead, I can only say that I wish I would've been there to whip them back to Hell where they probably belong. Damn undead.

It is unfortunate that the mission went poorly for us. It is pretty important that we learn what we can from this experience so we can prepare better for the next mission. Can we learn a few things regarding how the missions in general will function that can prepare us better next time? What I mean is the following:

1) Did the results seem fairly random, or did the mission results correspond well with the amount of energy that each of the members spent? Magneto it sounds like performed admirably, but did he also spend the most energy to do so?

2) Those that had the worst performances, was it also energy driven? As was mentioned one of our prelates ordered an unprepared member to the team at a late date, and without any chance to put in orders otherwise, I assume the default expenditure of 1 energy point resulted in a poor performance on their part?

3) Since no one mentioned any public acts of sabatoge, are we to assume that this mission failure was simply that we were less organized, less prepared for this mission than those that opposed us?

4) Any idea if a bad guy who ends up on a mission can have a "good result" due to random rolls or point expenditure and buy trust similar to what has happened in other parallel universes previously? (ooc: ie: spawn games)

Based off of the fairly short descriptions of the mission report that have been provided thus far, it sounds more of a case of us defeating ourselves than anyone else stopping us. Hopefully we can learn and be ready for the next mission as it comes up.

JeanGrey
10-07-2008, 07:55 AM
I spent about 1/4 of my starting energy points on the mission. My read of the mission results is that it was less any one person stopping us and more of a case of lack of energy or people. I think the mission group was not large enough, for one thing, and there probably wasn't enough energy spent as well.

Mimic

Very good analysis Reed. It was more than likely my fault that I ordered Beast to go with them when I should've done it earlier in the day; however, I was waiting on a response from Magneto or Charles which I never received.

That being said, I would guess that it was at random who piloted the ship. Hank said that he was overwhelmed by a psionic force and that was why he had trouble landing. Did the landing affect the mission in the long run? Probably not, as Jean and Emma were fighting to keep the psychic presence at bay and they seemed to be ineffective in fighting the humanoids.

I agree Magneto comes off as being good in this mission. I will take my magnifying lens off him but keep an eye on Xavier.

Can someone clarify whether you were fighting towards the mutant or defending your position? Based upon Beast and Jean's descriptions, they seem to differ in that regard.

This is very disconcerting. We sent seven of our number, some very powerful, and seemingly well-suited for the task, yet they met with failure.

I would appreciate any feedback from the participants as to what precisely went wrong. By which I mean, did we not send enough force, or was the mix of skills insufficient?

Well that is a shame. I think that what we have learned from this is what I feared - that our groups to accomplish missions may have to be larger, although that does open up the risk of sabotage of course, until we can clear more people.

I am not necessarily sure that larger is better. Throwing more people at a mission would provide more energy, but it also keep people away from doing other various functions that they might be better served at. We know there are ways to get bonuses with things such as missions. Instead of throwing more people at the issue, lets try to be better prepared and more organized instead. If people are not joining teams for likeminded interest, why are they joining teams?

Perhaps we should focus on having teams going out on an away mission together, and utilize that bonus. That would leave other members to use their abilities or powers in other useful manners.

I am having a second consideration regarding the Galactus mission currently as lack of preperation I feel will lead us to the same result here as well. I am wondering if we do not receive the group preperation prior to departing that is required, if it would be better to withdraw from it, and focus my energy elsewhere for today to perhaps research a tool that might be useful in future missions instead.

My belief is preperation is more important than numbers on these missions.

Disappointing showing on the mission. My sources say the failure was due to improper planning and execution and not due to sabotage.

Reasoning for why I did not go on the mission: It was suggested by many that having all of our powerful telepaths on one mission together might not be the optimum course of action.

Emma and Jean believed that they brought particular skills to the mission that would cause it to be successful. Emma was forced due to circumstances to commit early to the mission. Jean announced her intention to undertake the mission, and at that point I pulled out, out of a desire to not expose all of our telepaths on one mission.

Upon seeing the suggestion by the glorious Apocalypse I had hoped to have another opportunity to converse with Jean regarding which of us should undertake the mission, but that conversation never happened.

i'm also not sure -- do we think that Apoc has "inside information" on the missions that tell him who would be best suited to complete it, or was that just his suggestion based on my character?

I also remain unconvinced that a particular "skill mix" has an impact on the success of the mission. Dr. McCoy and Prelate Jean Grey have given fundamentally accurate recounts of events.

I would like to clarify -- Dr. McCoy was not affected by the psionic energy, the plane itself was. I was able to use my power to maintain the integrity of the craft; the Doctor was then able to land it.

The psionic storm was far more than we anticipated. Prelate Grey and Emma Frost -- two of the strongest telepaths we have ever known -- were unable to entirely mitigate its effects. For the remainder of the mission, I could feel it pull at me.

The eyeless, shambling horde of...things...that came at us were seemingly endless. Colossus and Firebird fought them with great strength and deserve mention for this.

We reached the center of the storm and -- nothing. There was no sign of the girl.

I saw no evidence of direct sabotage on anyone's part. Several members of the Brotherhood attended, but I saw no evidence that being a team provided us with benefit. As the team is newly formed, I can only guess that we need more time together.

Some have asked if the amount of energy devoted to the mission was important in this case. I believe that the answer is yes.

Perhaps failure was due to:

1. Psionic Storm (needed more telepaths on the mission)
2. Eyeless humanoids were overwhelming

I'd be interested to know how much energy Colossus and Firebird spent as well as Gambit and Quicksilver. Maybe Colossus and Firebird spent a certain amount of energy that reached a threshold to which they contributed. This will be important to note on the Galactus mission later today.

We don't have much time to decide the strategy for the Galactus mission.

Let's turn to who to standard attack (vote) for. I am thinking that I am much less likely to look at those who have been very active in the conversation. Off the top of my head I remember substantial contributions from Magneto, Prof X, GhostRider, Nightcrawler, the Beast, and Nick Fury. I know there are others as well but that's from the top of my head and so I would prefer not to attack any of those people, though I would have to join with Magneto on Mr. Fury if the need arises.

I do have to admit to not being as well-versed in our colleagues as some of you seem to be. Are there those among us who could have created this storm through their logical powers or these humanoids or are we assuming they are a game dynamic?

Tough decision. I'm still not sure I would be of much assistance to a team, but it seems this is more about choosing sides than helping out, which is fine. I definitely don't plan to join Daddy's Brotherhood of Mutants. I might have been interested in joining the Vision's Surfer Squad, but I wasn't invited, while my father was. That left only the Brethren that had invited me, until S.H.I.E.L.D came along. Hrm.

Sorry Scarlet Witch, I was looking at your history with the Ultimates and that relationship with Nick Fury. Quicksilver would likely be on this list as well.

I believe if one of our psychics had been the one to sabotage it, we would have known. this mission was just a failure.

It will be very easy for me to attack Victor Von Doom based on our past and the horrible things he has done to both myself and my family. I am waiting to at least give him the decency to show up prior to my assault however. Even when he does arrive, I may still go after him if I do not see a better alternative today.

I apologize, my connection to FOFC seems to be running extremely slowly at the moment. I'm a big comic geek, but I'm not familiar with certain characters playing the game.

There are certainly characters that could create the storm, including myself. Without going back to check on the mutant the team was going to get, there's a possibility that he/she was the one who created the storm, etc. I remember he/she was an Omega level mutant.

Another possibility was that it was some evil faction within our midst who prevented the mission from occuring. Certainly, the servants of Apocalypse knew who was going on the mission and if there are unloyal ones who did not go on the mission then they would have had a leg up in coming up with a strategy to defeat those that went.

A third possibility was that it was some unrevealed foe. The Mole Man comes to mind with his minions, but he does not have psionic powers.

I am signed up for it and have sent in my instructions regarding how much energy I would like to spend for it. I still echo my earlier concerns however, that leaving these important missions to last minute to try to round up forces for will leave us with the same results as previous.

I will be tied up in my lab for a while working on various things. Hopefully someone with more free time can round up a proper team for this mission, so we don't all waste our time and energy once again.

I agree with Reed. I think we need to plan better, further in advance, due to people's schedules. We should look to organize the second mission against Galactacus right now as well.

We should also maintain a roster of folks interested in volunteering for the second mission.

If nobody else cares to volunteer their effort for this, I will set my intellect to it.

Charles, you are currently my only suspect, based on the foolishness you've shown. I was anticipating that you would claim not to have seen our lord's instruction (which claim would have actually made you look even worse, incidentally). To readily admit that he whom we serve shall not be the final arbiter in your decisions is on its face a treasonous act.

I hereby announce my intention to attack Charles Xavier today, barring some unforeseen evidence which might turn up.

Magneto, thank you for this account. It confirms what we've already learned, and adds your unique perspective as well.

Also, it reinforces my concern, shared by Pietro himself, that every participant save one seemed instrumental to the effort expended in the mission.

So I must ask: why the lack of result from the speedster, Quicksilver?
