I'm wondering if we might want to insult a leprechaun when you get to the room. If you do it, I don't know if it will make an extra one peel off because I've been in the room or if it'll just be one because you're just entering. Whether it's one or two, we should be able to handle them fairly easily so we'll at least get some exp and maybe some treasure while we're sitting here waiting to move again. Since you only have two things to ID, I can check them out and still have one missile left for the fight, and if we do that this afternoon, my spells will reset for our Monday movement.

What rank are you? If I'm reading right and you are level 2 you can only cast 2 spells a day, meaning you may only be able to do 1 identification in order to have a magic missile left over.

Should we have you insult them? I'm pretty sure that if I do it we'll end up with 3 or 4 which is a lot. If you do it, I would assume we would end up with just 1 or 2.

I'm thinking the leprechaun counter resets after you leave the room since I only faced one. Since you didnt kill the two, I wouldn't think we'd fight more than two with you insulting. My only concern if I insult them is if both of them fling a missile at me to open combat, I could potentially take lethal damage.

We could also just skip the exercise, since we admittedly don't know what the mechanics are here, just thought we might try to get something out of the day so we don't fall behind others.

Yep, forge room it up. You can gain XP by forging something in there if you're successful I guess. The belt I have is a cursed belt of humanity, and whoever wears it turns human. So I can either sell that or one of us cats can turn human at some point I guess.. Not that I see any reason to do that.

Whew, I’m glad to be out of that room. All of that acid wasn’t good for the blade, ya know?

Oh, anyway, here I am! I’m with this lizard dude, so allow me to give ya the scoop about my sad life.

So, this wizard guy was getting up there in power and years. He decided to make one last great artifact before he passed, and I was to be his crowning achievement. He spent years researching how to make me, and he eventually came up with various formulae. I would be a Sword of Enbowelment. Not only would I have a +2 bonus to hit and damage, but I would be extra useful at finding critical hits! Not too shabby!

He even decided to imbue the blade with a bit of his essence so I would be able to speak, think, and be annoyed at life. Anyway, after spending years on the project, I guess we all knew what was about to happen. Ya see, as this guy got older, he also got a little less sharp in the head. A ritual to bind me and make me was only supposed to take eight hours. He began at dawn, but his mind was too muddled. He wasn’t able to finish until midnight. It wasn’t like he could just stop the ritual and turn on some lights, so it was dark. The combination of little light, an already tired mind, and poor eyesight led to him missing on the enchantment.

So, no, I’m not the powerful Sword of Enbowelment! No, instead I’m a…*shudders*…Sword of Envowelment. I know. Go ahead and laugh, I know you want to. My wielder can’t speak vowels. And yes, “Y’ counts as a vowel. I can’t tell you how annoying it is to decipher a bunch of “cfrk hrn bnkrws” sounds!

I’m still a +2 sword though! I’m a badass! But the problem is that most of my owners don’t want to keep me through the year ; we are so done with that. Now I’m sticking to my owner like fleas to a whore (and don’t ask me how I know that, I have memories of my third owner). I’ll be glued to his hand and not let go ever!

Oh, and hi by the way! I like to be called th dspllr. *sound of laughing ensues* You see, that’s a joke because I left out the vowels even though I don’t have to. I like to call myself The Dispeller. Do you get it? I kill me!

I was the "lucky" one who got to fight the featured monster above-a rust monster.

Bad: My long sword was dissolved during the battle.

Good: I had another long sword thanks to the room with the weapon racks-so glad I didn't trade/sell it now.

Good: It did the amount of damage to me that I had just healed yesterday.

Bad: I have no healing items left so likely will have to retreat to the lighter bricks.

Good: I finally got a arrow attack off.

Bad: It missed.

Good: I got a boatload of xp for killing the beast.

Bad: I'm 50 xp short of going up a level.

In a display of fighting that was something short of awesome:
Quiwth ranger was 5/5 hitting me.
I hit him one time.
Danny, the mage, landed two hits and did about 4x as much damage.

It is a bit hard keeping up the evil/menacing facade when I handle my business like that in combat.

Danny, I've got a mace that is magic - I would be interested in trading that for the chain mail and sword. After that last display I'm pretty sure I need better gear.

He's certainly hitting better than this Qwith Ranger-maybe I should team up with him if I find that room.

In the end, you'll stay in the team because you are good and you want to win this dungeon triumph for some noble reason you've concocted for yourself and the people in the community. Take the weekend to go through your moral dilemma, but by Monday lets get our items swapped and continue striding towards victory.

Danny, looking for feedback on trading and movement - would like to process any kind of trade with the morning action, assuming that is an option.

As far as movement, my initial thought is to stick on this level for another day before pushing ahead to darker bricks. I think we could use at least another level here before moving ahead, or better (identified) supplies. Plus there is the matter of food+torches, which need to get shored up as well. I would like to feel like we've got our affairs a little more in order before rushing off and getting Khit'ed (or Autumn'd, take your pick) because we were reckless.

I was thinking of going with the Cure Light Wounds or whatever healing one it is, which would help us a lot with not having to spend as much on healing herbs.

BTW, can a bard use a shield? If not, I could trade my exotic weapon to you for the shield, since I can use it. Although I think the staff I use may be a two-handed weapon, so I am not sure if I can use the staff and the shield at the same time. We may need to clarify that with Abe.
