With the elevators inoperable, you begin the long trek up the stairs towards the penthouse of the Ivo Shandor building. About halfway up the stairs, the lights go out and you hear a scream. You hear the whine of proton packs being turned on and weapons firing towards the sound. The lights come back on and you see the remnants of bhlloy lying on the stairs. His body gives no sign of having been supernatural in origin.

You wait for the other shoe to drop, but nothing happens. You continue to climb and all of a sudden hear multiple enormous cracks of thunder. You find renewed energy and head up the stairs until you finally reach the penthouse. Down the hall, you see the suite has an eerie light coming from it. Busting down the door, you realize the room is in massive disarray and the windows have been blown out. Another stairway leads up and you climb it. You see a horrible sight as you reach the top.

Two terror dogs have taken up positions outside of a temple. Two figures are standing before them holding hands while beams of light emmenate from them towards the temple. You realize you have no hope to stop them without extreme action.

Egon, who you realize now is Chubby, turns to Venkman, who you now realize is Autumn:

"The door swings both ways. We could reverse the particle flow by crossing the streams."

"I thought you said crossing the streams was bad."

"There's definitely a very slim chance we'll survive."

There's no time to come to another course of action. They both switch on their proton pack weapons and cross the streams...

Just, not like this. I was kind of of hoping for an explaination after the game.

The beams cross and fluctuate wildly as they aim at the temple. The ghostbusters can barely control their weapons as at last a gigantic blast of energy destroys the temple. The backfire from the blast can't be contained by Egon and he dies in an explosion. The debris from the temple barely misses most of you, but Narcizo and mauchow aren't quite as lucky. Narcizo appears to be a citizen, but mauchow the terror dog is definitely not.

Passacaglia, who you now recognize as the other terror dog, leaps out and slays Autumn, who with his proton pack drained can't stop him. Lathum the Keymaster and KatyLied the Gatekeeper both point at fontisian. Lightning bolts shoot out and kill her where she stands.

Each of us terror dogs could scan a player each night. Night 2 Pass found Lathum and he was instantly converted.

Then after that I was able to continue scanning one person per night and if I found them they would be instantly converted. Lathum was also able to scan but if he found them I would have to scan her the next night. THis is what happened, Lathum found her the night before and I scanned her tonight...which is why the last minute switcheroo happened.

How did the Keymaster/Gatekeeper stuff work?

The two terror dogs had a scan each night for a convert. If they hit on one, there would be no night kill that night but the convertee would join their ranks (full PM rights). The terror dog that found them lost their scan, however the Keymaster (in this case, since he was found first) gets a scan for the Gatekeeper. The difference with the Keymaster scan is that he can't perform the conversion, so Lathum actually found Katy last night but couldn't convert her. mauchow did that tonight.

Once we found out who you were it was our priority to keep you from being lynched. We made the decision to take a shot tonight in case Chubby scanned one of us. Always more fun that way.

The night Chubby changed his scan to murrayyyy, his first option would've ended up scanning mauchow, which would've hurt the wolves as they would've lost their ability to convert Katy. Pass and Lathum still might've been ok though, as Pass had a couple votes on mau earlier and Lathum was reasonably trusted.

We NK'd you hoops because we saw you were on the right track way too many times. Killing you and Danny on the same die I think was a massive analysis blow for the village.

The D1 lynch had a pretty big impact on the game. Let's say DT reveals early enough to move votes off him. Lathum had the next most votes by three or so towards the end of the day. If he gets voted out, the wolves lose a convertee and have to get through the proton pack to get rid of Ray and maybe Britrock doesn't get killed N1 (an unlisted role ability was that Autumn got to take over the Ray scan if Ray died before him, so britrock might've had a chance to become a Ghostbuster).

The Zinto lynch ended up having a big impact too, since if Katy had been lynched they would've lost that convertee and Chubby would've scanned and cleared Zinto instead of scanning the night kill target.

Originally, I voted for Lathum because of his interactions with Chubby. Lathum seemed to take things a bit personally for no good reason which, to me, appeared to be him protesting too much.

I saved the duke, thinking it would be more useful tomorrow, and hoping wolves wouldn't reveal themselves with a move. Never considered that they might have the scan of a convert. Bad move, but I wouldn't have duked to Mau despite my suspicions.

Yeah, I was surprised at it because (in my mind, at the time) it seemed like you were foregoing shots at both roles and conversions. However, after learning how the mechanics worked it made more sense to me.

I said it in the other thread, but I hate the way that Pass played this game. It is one thing when someone is playing their first game and is quiet as they get the feel for things. But Pass didn't even engage in the game, and that just creates situations that are really frustrating for the group ... whack someone because they are quiet, because they are playing against type, etc. Anyway, just hate seeing experienced players in that mode.

Thanks to JAG for running what seems to have been a really well structured game. Even if Peck wasn't in there and it was a role that I was meant to have (sob).

As bhlloy points out, Pass made it sound like there were only two choices and went with PF. At this point I'm considering his vote, Mauchow's and Zinto's on PF as the most suspicious as I think the wolves would probably have been pushing PF at this point.

Yeah, I thought Autumn had some good reads, but it was like he was talking to empty air. I don't think he got a whit of traction, except for mau agreeing with him on Pass (woohoo).

Hmm, looks kind of cool. I know back in the day I used to have IM conversations with the other wolves and send copies of the transcripts to the moderator to keep them in the loop. As moderator, I normally export copies of PMs before I export them. But if there was something that made this process automatic rather than manual, that would be great.

That's understandable -- I didn't have the time to engage in this game like I usually do in games. It was probably a bad idea to join with my schedule the way it is, but the theme drew me in. If it's any consolation, my fellow wolves probably had a similar frustration -- there must have been hundreds of PMs going back and forth, and I sent like 5.

Yep, know you usually do in games. I think the "Hello" posts suggested that you were around, but choosing not to participate a good chunk of the time. That was where I started getting agitated as a reader ... think I was dead by the time that started happening with some frequency.

Anyway, I completely get the "life happens" part of it, having some level of remorse once starting, etc. Have found myself in similar spots with other games over the years. I know it isn't your MO, and no hard feelings on my end for future games. Just raising it in post-game because it was something that applied to this game, and a situation that every once in a blue moon does come up in games overall. So when I go on a rant of "lynch the quiet ones" I'll reference this game as "Exhibit A" :)

I started a new job at the end of January, but it got off to a bit of a slow start in terms of getting me assigned to a project. But April is all booked up, so hopefully I'm too busy to be spending time in these threads during the day :)

Will follow along upcoming games and jump back in when opportunity presents itself. Enjoyed the medium/large games we've had in March and hope that the activity level on this forum remains high. Finally, hope some of the newer players continue to get acclimated and assert themselves in these threads. Would be nice to see folks push Danny and Lathum around a bit ;)

Correct. There was a way for the cultist to enter the game, but it would have required lynching a bad guy and no conversions within the first couple days as a way to even out the possibility that the bad guys might not manage to get a conversion during the game.

I felt like I had dropped enough clues earlier in the thread to strongly support my reveal, even if fingered by the seer. But since I was playing for the village, I did not want to have to resort to that showdown since it would expose Egon.

Yes, but counting on the village to buy that you weren't an evil ghost setting up a future fake reveal for when you were scanned might have been a different story. Your reputation proceeds you after all.

I was on eggshells from day one. Twas fun!

We had reveals ready to go in most events but they never had to happen because the village was taking care of the votes without our help for the most part.
