Id say maybe 500 thousand depending on the price.. It should sell more than blitz..the 360 and p3's do not have a user base thats large enough to move more than that.. its more of a niche type game...I do think a lil over 500 is do able if the price is lower.. it really just depends on the price.. if they can get it in around 39-49 that will be huge..

hey does anyone know how many people ended up signing that pettition online?

If u look at CH, NBA 2K7, and NHL 2K7. Which are all of there main games, none of them improved that greatly from the year before. Most of them were critized for not changing and just being a roster update.
I totally agree on the CH, NBA, and NHL thing on the last couple of year's worth of games being glorified roster updates. But when it comes to the NFL 2K series, I really, really disagree with you. NFL 2K5 was easily the best game in the series, and the series had always shown progress and improvement each year. I think this new football game can be good if they improve upon the NFL 2K engine, rather than try a brand new engine.

There are barely 10 million next gen units in North America right now (maybe less). When the 2K game had the license and a price above $20, they never hit a million sales on a much larger user base. I think selling 500,000 copies of a generic football game on a small user base would be a tremendous accomplishment. I see more like 250,000 copies and maybe less. I hope they do well but I think this has the potential for disaster if the game is subpar. If the game is clearly better than Madden, they could come close to 500,000 but that will take some major convincing and marketing. Blitz may have sold 1,000,000 games but that was on a much larger userbase with an established identity.

over 1 million. They will sell out in a lot of places on the release day. This game has a cult following and could be hard to find to start with.

I predict that APF will sell well beyond the calendar year of 2007.
Madden goes like gangbusters at the beginning, but seems to
taper off. If 2K's game is great and gets star reviews from
IGN & Gamespot, this game could sell and sell again as a GOTY

That's really the million dollar question I guess. Just how good will the game be? How customizable will the game be? People will buy this game if its good but for a first iteration game, I think people's expectations will be too high. I think they should have just focused on the 360 this year since the PS3 has a tiny userbase and won't bring in much money this year anyways.

A cult following doesn't equal over 1 million sells. People on here make it seem like selling a million copies is easy and they are really overstating the interest in the game. Like rudyjuly said, selling 500,000 copies of an unlicensed game would be a big success.

I agree the PS3 user base is small & will likely be not that big come
July/August however I don’t think 2K will be distracted by having the
game on two platforms. After 2K and Madden 05 were released, the
sales of the latter dropped off while NFL2K5 continued to sell well
into the new year. It would not surprise me that APF does well, then
gets re-released as a special version with a discounted price. Again
this all stems from how well it does. Not to equate ratings with sales,
but I am predicting that this will be the first 9+ score in the sports
game genre for next generation gaming.
