That was refreshing to read. I'll play some in leagues and buy it to support 2K but the overall replay value is a concern for me.

What do you mean by this? I've done this plenty of times in the series. Some specific mechanic of Madden that you've seen?

Good preview by the way.
I didn't notice, but the playbooks looked almost identical to NFL 2k5's.

Wow. Good Preview, Z. I was already going to get the game based on what AHolbert said, but you raise an interesting point in regards to the punter/kicker. I mean, do you waste a gold pick on a punter like Ray Guy? It would seem like you might want to if every player is going to be different based on this new attribute system. It seems as though you would have to choose your players very wisely. This game has a lot of great potential.

On Defense. Was it better playing with the MLB?
The pursuit AI seemed great, as I mentioned. I only played multiplayer against Chau - Aaron and Chau played against the computer some. Nothing jumped out at me as either great or terrible in terms of AI in the 20 minutes or so I watched someone play against the computer. It's tough for me to make any judgments about CPU offense AI from that limited time.

Playing MLB was undoubtedly easier. I usually play free safety when I play football games, but I took a few snaps from the MLB position and was able to contribute, tackling the RB multiple times after short gains. It felt more realistic in that it's important to strafe for the first couple seconds when you're trying to figure which way the play is going. But as soon as you figure out the play direction, you have to take off after the ball carrier right away. It didn't seem productive to either run or strafe the whole time - you have to mix it up appropriately.

Yes it does...If 2k can build on this adding more legends & online drafts so the same players arent on different teams this could really be the bomb. Leagues would be sick with your own unique teams playing others. IMO you cant beat that.

Chau specifically pointed out that he thought a lot of people were going to overlook how much a legend specialist can help.
