Icon4 Man, 2K really blew the release date...

I'm just sitting here looking at the release calendar. Really just anticipating the games coming out next month. And I just can't get over the fact that 2K Sports blew this opportunity to steal some gamers, by releasing the game BEFORE NCAA, next month.

I mean yeah, they bumped it up to a month before Madden. but really that was kind of a no-brainer, now, I mean literally right now, this week would have been a perfect time to get there game out on the market. Absolutely NO competition on the shelves and capitalizing on the anticipation of the upcoming football gaming season.

Anyway, that's the end of my rant...

SMH, 2K SMH...

Ideally, I'm sure many at 2K would probably agree with you...but according to LBzrule, they only finished the game last Friday. Hopefully, it will be well tested, go to gold, and print....

But that takes time. Gotta finish it first.

If they had been working on this game for more than a year, I'd say the release date is probably a bad idea. But since they only finished it last week...I'd say that its kind of the best available date.

Plus, I think there's many NCAA fans who sit on the game for that week, week and a half or so that it takes people like Fairdale Kings to make the named rosters... So they might be itching for "named" football.

But obviously going against NCAA isn't that pleasant of an idea.
Although I'm a bigger pro fan than college...so if I ONLY had $60 to spend, and couldn't get both... I'd get APF2K8... but I'm probably in the minority.

They should've released this last year in January

They would've gotten so many gamers then

Better release later with a solid product than releasing early with a failed one.

2K's plan isn't to outsell NCAA or Madden, it is to start getting people on board with 2K football again by word of mouth. Releasing it earlier might have bumped a couple sales higher.
