Re: point system for picking legends

While i do somewhat relate to what the OP is saying, i would have to say lets see how the gold non-typical picks play before casing them out as being below the QBs, RBs and DBs.

I for example am thinking of using my gold picks on RB Earl Campbell but the other on OT Anthony Munoz. Munoz of course being the non-typical (IE typical QB, RB, WR, DB). If Munoz can dominate like i hope, i will have no problem sticking with that pick. I have to admit i would like liked to see a 4th level for the Gold players who are unlikely to be picked as much.

Re: point system for picking legends

I agree with the original poster, and I also think there should be at least 5 ratings.

I mean, with the emphasis put on them by 2k, I have a feeling Marino, Elway, Payton, Barry, Rice, Singletary, and Butkus will be far superior to every other gold player.

And on the other hand, Andre Ware and some others shouldn't be bronze.

I'd go for a 5 tiered ranking system, or ideally a 10 point system, where the team then adds up to say, 35. Where the Marinos and Rices would be 10s, the Moons would be 7-8s, and the Wares would be 1.

"Andre Ware and some others shouldn't be bronze. "

Andre could get the psycho girlfriend attribute for burning his house down... It could be called the Talking heads skill

BTW does Ron Mexico have skillz in dog fighting in the game?

it's likely that each player will play differently, and to a more realistic level. the exception would be creating 2 players with the same level, same attributes, etc. i'm sure the number ratings behind each legend will portray them more accurately than what we're used to even, bc they don't have to worry about them being posted all over the internet, and how so many players were disrespected here or there.

I have no issue with the way they did it. The point system is a good idea though.

I think the point system is a great idea. I was thinking the same thing. It would be a great way to handle franchise and online leagues. In real sports some teams have a few superstars surrounded by role players while other teams are loaded with lots of good players but no superstars.

Re: point system for picking legends

that is EXACTLY WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT

you should be able to build your team the way you want under certain limitation....the point system would be like a salary cap in NFL

goldies cost much more than bronzies.....so do you wanna put all your eggs in one basket or spread them out....is the moral of story here

I wish we were given that choice
