That's the problem with guys in the same position in the same tier - look at Lem Barney and then Mel Renfro. Barney has 4 abilities and Renfro only has two, yet they're both silver CBs. Why would you take Renfro over Barney? To be different? Making a team with all players from the same team? Those are the only two reasons.

Yeah, but I think if a silver tier guy is only listed as good at 2 things, he is REALLY good at those 2 things.

Plus there is some strategy involved in many of the positions. Do you want a guy who is a run stopper or a pass rusher? A guy who covers well or who hits hard? At CB, I think we all choose the same few guys who are ball hawks and cover men, but at the other positions, the calculus changes based on your style of play.

So while a guy may only have 2 special attributes, if those are the two you desire, you take him over another guy with three special attributes that are less desirable.

My favorite gold FS is willie wood, even though most pick Lott by default, either b/c they know the name, or b/c he has all those icons under his name. I like my FS to be a 3rd corner/ centerfielder so I use Wood.

Guilty with Barney. He is basically a starting point for every team I make. First or second DB, he has the pass coverage and ball hawk abilities, something the over silver DBs dont have.

2k should have done a better job with the abilities/tiers....some of the legends have no abilities, WTF

I've seen either Perry or Manley on a lot of teams.

Barney is my main CB on one of my teams but I use Lester Hayes on my team with Woodson cuz he's a bump master so it allows to blitz almost every down. Overall Barney is the best silver cb but if you want sum1 to play bump and run Hayes is better. I have Perry on almost everyone of my teams though.

I play against a lot of Randall Cunningham, Dexter Manley, Jerry Rice and Night Trane Lane.
