No love for Emmit Smith?

I played bcruise's Emmit-Johnston squad and got beat squarely. I don't remember him breaking anything huge, but I remember lots of 4-8 yard gains. I was impressed by what he could do in the game, though I haven't had lots of success with him. I think it's true that many people aren't as adept at using the charged moves like the stiff arm as they are at hammering X to break out of tackles, which would explain, at least in part, why so many people prefer someone like Campbell.

I'm not using him in my OS Vets league team though cuz I wanted to try something a little different. He's on my offline season team however.

He sucks in real life and he sucks in the game! His O Line made him great and Troy and Michael made him better! Who knows that guy kill my Vikes so much. He was unreal. You could not bring him down and he was pretty quick too. Fun to watch him play and was a class act. One of my alltime favorite RB's

They are all good, but people use Earl Campbell most of the time. I never used him though and i am in the top 50 online. I use either Gayle Sayers or Christian Okoye. I used Marcus Allen a few times though.

Here's a tip - don't try to stiff arm someone directly in front of you. (that wasn't directed at you)

Most backs only have a stiff arm that forces them into a 2 second animation where you can't do much of anything except watch. Emmitt's (and any other with that ability) when charged is MUCH faster and doesn't throw him off his line. Nobody but a gold defensive player can shrug off that charged stiff arm when it's used correctly, unless Emmitt is gassed.
