It's not all that different from regular online play - some people will try to win at any cost. Hell, you see it in professional sports - some players will do anything and everything they can to get an edge.
Now if you cheat, what does the person learn ?

A lot of the cheesers only use a certain strategy. Some of them are so boring they only use like 2-3 plays over and over for the whole 4th quarter.

And sometimes i think, are these guys having fun playing the game like this?

Playing them is so boring sometimes that you feel like you lose IQ points after the game.

When you cheat what does the person Learn? In the end they dont win or gain anything really.

They might win but in real LIFE they lose something dont you think?

Cheat is kind of a harsh word. Cheating to me is dealing from the bottom of the deck, or filming another football team's practice (shame on you Pats).

In a video game, both players(assuming it was a head to head matchup) are bound by the same laws. If I was able to manipulate the AI better than the next guy or chick to help me win a big prize, then hell yea I would. Early, and often. I think some of you guys take this sports video gaming stuff too seriously. Honor?? lol

Exclamation Re: Would You Cheat Your Opponent in a Tournament?

"Stupid Ronin! I don't fight for honor! I fight to win!"

Yeah, I've heard that one before... Philosophy. It is what it is... For me, appearing to win by purposely cheating is thoroughly meaningless. For others, it is quite simply the only means by which they will ever "enjoy victory". They have no choice. I do.

If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying hard enough.

Re: Would You Cheat Your Opponent in a Tournament?

i just think it has to do w/ maturity/age level. At a younger age I would put all types of codes in games to win, the ultimate joy was winning.

Now, I'd much rather have a close exciting game and lose, rather than glitch a win.

Re: Would You Cheat Your Opponent in a Tournament?

DUDLEY
You don't have the eye for human
weakness to be a good detective.
Or the stomach. You're a
political animal, Edmund.

The criticism stings, but Dudley's a straight shooter.

EXLEY
You're wrong.

DUDLEY
Am I...? Would you be willing to
plant corroborative evidence on a
suspect you knew was guilty in
order to ensure an indictment?

EXLEY
Dudley, we've been over this.

DUDLEY
Answer yes or no.

EXLEY
I... No.

DUDLEY
Would you be willing to rig crime
scene evidence to support a
prosecuting attorney's working
hypothesis...? Yes or no, Edmund.

EXLEY
No.

DUDLEY
Would you be willing to beat
confessions out of suspects you
knew to be guilty?

EXLEY
No.

DUDLEY
Would you be willing to shoot
hardened criminals in the back to
offset the chance --

EXLEY
No.

DUDLEY
Then for God's sake, don't be a
detective. Stick to assignments
where you won't have to make those
choices. Patrol, Internal
Affairs, but not the Bureau.

EXLEY
I know you mean well, Dudley, but
I don't need to do it the way you
did. Or my father.

DUDLEY
At least get rid of the glasses.
I can't think of one Bureau man
who wears them.
