The animations and the feel of the game are unsurpassed. I'm trying Madden 10 out as I type this, and while it's a marked improvement of Madden, I still don't feel like I'm in control. Definitely miss the route based passing.

You'll probably end up doing what I am: hate the online modes, enjoy the offline modes and mainly start playing offline Franchise.

I recently created a franchise file that has all trades (draft picks) and roster movements up to the trading deadline done. It makes it alot of fun to go in and actually run a real team again. Another thing I did was started making all incoming Draft rookies with an 80+ OVR into NFL-past knock-offs. Basically I got this idea from using "bootleg" guys in APFs True Balanced league. So now if the Rams draft a possession WR he's named "Ike Bruce", Atlanta drafts a shutdown-elite speed CB he's "Demond Saunders", "Roy Aiken", "Eric Smith", "Mike Irving", "Torrance Sayler", "Bryan Hawkins" etc. It gives all these faceless rookies some personality and sense of being dynamic.

Nice, but I thought Bruce was still playing. heh

I am currently trying offline / Franchise mode. It's different than 2K's games, so far I have to say it's the best Madden ever. Doesn't make it the best football game ever though.

Re: After One Play In APF 2K8

i tried madden 10 and its not bad. Went back to all pro and was just blown away all over again. The only things that madden has over all pro is graphics, nfl, franchise, i like the jumping/diving better. Thats it. It seems like the players and field is so much biiger in all pro. The best thing is the passing, i love the long balls in all pro and the routes. I been making teams of co-workers and high school football friends. Really makes it fun and personal for me.
