The Yankees are dominating right now, they're 19-9 and are without a doubt the best team in the league right now.

Hamels Injured As Phils Topple Mets In Citi Field

Rollins cracking key double in 4th
Citi Field,Queens,NY-In a sparkling ballgame between two of the National league's best, the Philadelphia Phillies fought off the New York Mets, defeating them 4-2.Trailing 2-1 entering the fourth, the Phillies got a clutch two out two run double by Jimmy Rollins that gave the Phils a 3-2 lead after three and a half. From then on,it was all pitching,Phillies starter Cole Hamels put the Mets down in order in their half of the 4th but injured his forearm on the last pitch of the inning and had to leave the game,to the chagrin of the Phillie faithful. It didn't matter though,as relievers Kyle Kendrick,Scott Eyre,Ryan Madson and finally Brad Lidge held the Mets to just 2 singles the rest of the way while Chris Coste added a 9th inning insurance home run to give the Phils to hard fought 4-2 win.

Swift And Drastic Action Taken On Steroid Front
In a monumental decision who's impact will shake the sport of baseball to its core,Commisioner Bud Selig, under intense pressure from the United States congress, and an unrelenting press, has stricken from the record books the statistics of all players involved in MLB's steroid scandal. In the 50 page report,Selig names all of the names that have become synonomous with steroid abuse, reiterates the evidence against them and strikes their records down.Named in the report are: Barry Bonds,Mark McGwire,Sammy Sosa,Roger Clemens,Rafael Palmeiro,Todd Hundley,Alex Rodriguez,Troy Glaus,David Segui,Jose Canseco,Lenny Dykstra,Jason Grimsley,Jason Giambi,Jeremy Giambi,Fernando Vina,Kevin Brown,David Justice, and several other lesser known players. For retired players, all of their statistisc will be immediatelly removed from the record books, meaning Roger Maris and Hank Aaron have been rightfully restored to their proper perches at the top of the single season and career home run leaderboards. As for the active players mentioned, they will be permitted to continue their careers, under the stigma of having their statistics erased from the game's history as well upon retirement.Going forward, players found abusing PED's will be dealt with on a case by case basis with the worst offenders being subjected to this new "death penalty" as its being called.
