Griffey Picks up 6 RBI on 2 HR



The Mariner fans were treated to quite a game from their beloved star, Ken Griffey Jr. In the first inning he hit a 415 foot homer that ALMOST hit the Hit it Here, and in the 2nd he hit a 423 foot homer to right center. The best part about it- it was a grand salami.

Mariners considering deal with Braves

As recently told to the press, the Mariners are looking to trade Jack Wilson and Josh Bard, who are hitting a combined .253 avg. with 15 RBI. Mariners proposed a possible deal with Atlanta, sending the two players for 2B Martin Prado. This would mean Rob Johnson would start, with Adam Moore as a back-up. Josh Bard was sent down to AAA Tacoma last week.

Possible Deal:
Mariners Get:
2B Martin Prado

Braves Get:
SS Jack Wilson
C Josh Bard

If the trade works out, then Martin Prado might move to SS, or cause a change sending Jose back to 2nd.

M's win close game against Angels

In a pitching ruled game (well, at least for the Mariners) the M's game out victorious. Rowland-Smith got the win, he is now 4-1. Aardsma was forced to come in the ninth, and gave up one run, yet left the bases loaded. Scott Kazmir was the losing pitcher for LAA.

Braves accept trade; send Prado to M's for SS and C

After a few days of trade talks, terms have finally been agreed to. The Mariners will be trading away SS Jack Wilson and C Josh Bard to Atlanta for 2B Martin Prado. Prado will be playing short stop in place for Wilson, and Rob Johnson/Adam Moore will be rotating catcher spots.

The Trade is fair and realistic, however the question is does it improve the Defense?? Seemed like Wilson had played better of late picking up a couple of RBI's..
