22 innings on Opening Day

How much did that screw your bullpen for the rest of the series?

Hahah it was quite awful. Made me want to cry, definitely lost my composure by like the 20th inning.

Trevor Cahill Faces Small Injury, Looks to be OK

In his first outing of the season, Trevor Cahill was cut short after a nagging blistering finger forced him to come out. Cahill had worked 3.1 innings, given up up 3 hits and an earned run as he tried to fight off the pain. Eventually, Kirk Gibson decided to remove his struggling pitcher from the game and leave it up to the bullpen to finish off the job. The bullpen did just that, giving up 0 runs in the next 5.2 innings, earning Arizona their first victory of the year, relief pitcher David Hernandez pitched 2.2 innings, and took the win.

Although Cahill was forced to leave this game early, he is expected to be just fine in time for his next start. If everything goes smoothly, Cahill will be on the mound for the April 14th game against the Colorado Rockies, on Sunday. If Cahill cannot go, either David Hernandez or Joe Saunders would be the likely backups.
