Re: Eat em Up Tigers Eat Em Up!!!!!

Tigers sluggish start to the season sends them to 0-6 start.

Pic: Alex Avila loses his bat on a swing and miss summing up the Tigers first two series of the season.

Detroit, MI - The Detroit Tigers have gotten off to a horrible start to begin the season losing its first two series via sweep to start the season 0-6. Three of the six losses have been lost in the last two innings of the game. The other three the Tigers where manhandled.

The team has shown a lack of ability to put the ball in play and get runners on base. They are currently hitting .249 as a team which is good for 18th in majors. Their leading batter is Austin Jackson whom is hitting .320 and has shown a little power early this season hitting three home-runs.

Tigers are also struggling to push runners across as they are 28th in the majors in runs scored. Of the teams 13 RBI's Austin Jackson has five. However, with all the early season hitting struggles Detroit is also pitching terribly, and playing poor defense.

Tigers have six errors in six games, they rank 22nd in fielding percentage and show no signs of improvement. Meanwhile the pitching staff is third worst in the majors with a 5.50 ERA. They've given up the second most hits in the majors. While also sitting at the bottom for runs given up. Tigers Ace Justin Verlander has had a rough start with a 5.93 ERA in his two starts.

Detroit needs to get its act together and their first chance begins in Chicago, as they take on the 2-4 White Sox.

Team MVP (Positional Player): CF Austin Jackson
Team MVP (Pitcher): SP Anibal Sanchez
