Dang not getting much out of Votto and Bruce, but still 18-11. Imagine when those guys start hitting!
Yeah man. I'm not getting anything from them. Votto just not got the "cold" icon so it could get worse. Bruce has been cold for about two weeks now. My pitching is what keeps me winning.
At one point there were like 4-5 Reds dynasties going. You've withstood the test of time and now have the only consistently successful running Reds report going. Keep it up!

I noticed that as well.... survival of the fittest!! Funny how some of these just fall of the face of the earth

Thanks redsrulenc! Doing this actually makes me want to keep playing my Show franchise. I started one last year, but ended up going over to dynastynation.com, got behind and never finish. I plan on keeping this going until the final game of the season.

CHICAGO— After sweeping the Cubs in their first meeting just last week at Great American Ballpark, the Reds looked to continue their dominance against the Chicago Cubs on Friday, when the two matched up for the fourth time in 2013. But the Cubs had different ideas.
Chicago (10-21) came into the game with just two wins in ten tries against teams from the Central division but would sneak by the Reds in a 6-3 win, in a game in which Reds pitcher could not hold their part.
"They battled big time out there tonight," said Reds manager and former Cubs manager Dusty Baker. " We took the lead twice and they would counter with their runs."
After taking the lead in the first inning on a Joey Votto singled, Mike Leake would fall in a heap of trouble in the first; allowing the first three Chicago batters to reach base.
Leake would settle down and minimize the damange by just allowing one run, as the Cubs would strand the bases loaded to end the inning.
After a lead off triple by left-fielder Xavier Paul in the second, starter Jeff Samardzija would get two quick outs as it appears Samardzija would get out of the inning unscathed, but Mike Leake lined a shot down the right field line to score Paul and put the Reds in front again 2-1.
The Cubs would tie the game for the second time in the bottom half of the fourth inning, on a single by Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
Zack Cozart would give Cincinnati their third lead of the game in the fifth with his 12th RBI of the year to make it a 3-2 game.
In the bottom of the seventh the Cubs would get to Reds reliever Sean Marshall (0-1) for four runs to give the home team a comfortable three run lead.
Cincinnati would attempt a rally. In the eighth Jay Bruce's sixth double of the season made it a 6-4 game, but that's all the Redlegs would get.
Carlos Marmol would pitch the ninth inning, and pick up his sixth save; leaving the tying run at the plate as he would get Shin-Soo Choo to ground out to second to end the first game of the series.
The Reds will look to bounce back against Chicago on Saturday as they send young left-hander Tony Cingrani (1-1, 2.79) who has 22 strikeouts in his first three games pitch in his Rookie season. Edwin Jackson (1-3, 4.28) will get the start for the Cubs as he will look for his second win of the year. First pitch is set for 1:05.
CHICAGO—Since coming up to the big leagues on April 18th, Tony Cingrani has been everything Dusty Baker and the Cincinnati Reds could ask for to replace their Ace Johnny Cueto. On Saturday Cingrani made it clear to Reds management that they will have to make a tough decision when Cueto comes off the DL.
After striking out 11 batters in his first big league start a little over two weeks ago, Cingrani struck out another 11 in his fourth start, against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday afternoon.
"This kid has been unbelievable since he was brought up here," said Reds pitching coach Mark Price.
Cingrani gave up just one run on three hits, while walking one batter in six innings but would get the no decision in the game after giving up a solo home run to Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo in the bottom half of the Cubs sixth to make it a 1-1 game.
After taking a 3-1, the Cubs would tie it again in 7th at three runs a piece. However, Cincinnati would score four unanswered runs in the eight and ninth thanks to home runs by Brandon Phillips and Shin-Soo Choo to make it a 7-3 game as the Reds would hold on and win their 19th game of the season, and their fourth against Chicago in 2013.
Logan Ondrusek (2-1) pitck up the win in the game coming out of the bullpen, despite allowing the tying runs in the seventh inning.
Shin-Shoo Choo had his best game as a Red; going 3-5 with a double, and home run to go with three RBI's in the won over the Cubbies.
These two teams will play the rubber game on Sunday as the Reds will send Mat Latos (5-0, 2.37) to the mound and oppose a former Red, left hander Travis Wood (1-2, 4.50). First pitch is set for 2:20.
Game Notes: Reds outfielder Donald Lutz picked up his first major league RBI in the 7th inning, which gave the Reds 3-1 lead at the time....Tony Cingrani has 33 strikeouts in 25.1 innings this year while holding opponents to a .111 batting average.....Reds closer Aroldis Chapman has yet to give up a run in 15.2 innings out of the bullpen.
