W: Nick Vincent (1-1, 1.65) L: David Hernandez (1-1, 3.38)
It looked like Jeff Niemann would continue his fantastic season with another win, but San Diego tied the game in the 5th. In the 13th inning, Indianapolis nearly took the lead on a base hit to the outfield, but CF Alexi Amarista made a perfect throw to home plate to save the game. Finally, in the 14th inning, the Devils cracked, and allowed the Padres to win.

For the first time this year, Chris Narveson pitched very well, striking out 9 Padres over 7 scoreless innings. The Devils had a very quiet offense until the ninth when they padded their lead with 5 insurance runs.

W: Jake Odorizzi (1-1, 6.75) L: Matt Reynolds (0-2, 5.00) S: Huston Street (6, 0.00)
The Devils offense finally woke up in the 6th inning, but Matt Reynolds and Francisco Rodriguez could not hold the lead when they replaced Chad Billingsley in the 7th. The two relievers combined to walk 4 batters and give up 3 runs in just one inning.
Austin Jackson will rejoin the team in the next series against the Dodgers. A.J. Pollock has struggled with a .154 average this year, and he will be sent to AAA. With Jackson, the new lineups will look like this:

John Lannan was nearly perfect until the 6th, when Hanley Ramirez gave the Dodgers the lead with a 2-run home run. Indianapolis would take the lead on an RBI single by Ichiro, but Jon Rauch allowed a costly homer to Matt Kemp in the next inning, allowing L.A. to win the game.

W: Chris Leroux (2-0, 1.29) L: Ronald Belisario (0-1, 4.05) S: Jose Veras (5, 2.61)
The Devils and Dodgers played another very tight game, but this time, the home team came out on top. The Devils found themselves behind in the 8th inning, but Alberto Callaspo ended his slump at the plate with a go-ahead home run. Jose Veras easily closed the game, and Indianapolis avoided being swept.
