It is March 31st, and there is a new sheriff in the D! Former Tigers manager Jim Leyland announced his retirement prior to the beginning of the 2013 season leaving owner Mike Illitch and team GM Dave Dombrowski in quite the pickle.
After a month of hard interviews and following a below than average spring training, the Tigers have called on John Schultz to lead this team into the 2013 season.
Coach Schultz is a native of Detroit and is proud to be managing this baseball team. "I am damn proud to be here and I absolutely can not wait to get out there on opening day and play some ball."
Schultz's critics are not as forgiving as most say this may be the worst year the Tigers will have in recent memory as most know that without a good skipper at the helm, then the ship is almost destined for doom.
Only time will tell.
