Kaspers Korner

Hello again Cub fans, Len Kasper here to take you through what should be an exciting season of Cubs baseball. Theo and Jed have assembled a nice mix of young players and veterans to be led by Joe Maddon. The biggest addition this offseason was Lefty ace Jon Lester. With Arrieta, and an up and coming kyle Hendricks the Cub rotation looks to be pretty good going into the season.

On the offensive side, Javy Baez will be making the trip north with the team out of Spring training. He had a very solid spring and hopefully he can carry that on through the regular season. The line-up looks good with newcomer Dexter Fowler leading off and patrolling center. Add Rizzo, Castro, Olt, Montero and Soler and the Cubs could have a decent year offensively.

So let's sit back and enjoy what should be an exciting year on the Northside of Chicago! So if your ready Cub fans...Let's Go!!

Here are your 2015 Chicago Cubs

Series Preview

Hello again Everybody, David Kaplan here alongside Todd Hollandsworth. Welcome to another exciting year of Cubs baseball here on Comcast sportsnet. The Cubs are kicking off the season facing their long time rivals the St.Louis Cardinals.

Holly what are the keys to the Cubs taking this series?

Well Kap, the Cubs have got to keep the potent Cardinal offense at bay. Molina, Holliday and Heyward are the keys guys in that lineup, I think the Cubs starters can do a good job against them, it's the bullpen that really has to step up. For the Cubs offense, they have to be able to knock in guys in scoring position. I think the Cubs should have a pretty good, balanced lineup this year. They must show patience at the plate, especially against tonight's starter Adam Wainwright.

Todd, who is your pick to click for the series?

Kap, I'm going with Mike Olt tonight. I think he's gonna have a big night . A lot of pressure on him with Kris Bryant waiting in the wings, but I think he'll do well.

Thanks Todd, well Cub fans lets take you out to Wrigley to kick off the 2015 season

The Cubs and Cardinals faced off in game 2 and a Home Run Derby broke out!

The Cubs kicked off the scoring in the bottom of the first as Jorge Soler crushed a solo shot off Lance Lynn to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead. For Soler, it's his second HR in as many games.

The lead and starter Jake Arrieta would not last long. Arrieta gave up 6 to the Cardinals in the 3rd inning. Stl sent 10 batters to the plate as Arrieta imploded. In the bottom of the 3rd Rizzo would hit his first HR of the season, a 2 run HR off Lynn to pull the Cubs within 3.

In the bottom of the 4th, Javier Baez took Lynn deep with a solo HR, his first as well, Cubs inching closer, now 6-4.

In the top of the 6th however, Matt Holliday hit a solo HR off Edwin Jackson to give the Cardinals a 7-4 lead. Cubs answer with a Dexter Fowler solo shot in the bottom of the frame, now 7-5 Cards.

But Yadier Molina capped the scoring in the top of the 7th with yet another HR! His first, a solo shot off of former teammate Jason Motte. The Cardinals would go on to win the slugfest 8-5.

Series Preview

Hello again Cub fans, David Kaplan here with you again along with my partner Todd Hollandsworth.

Well we saw the Cubs take 2 of 3 in the opening series against the Cardinals. The Cubs showed some pop in the bats by hitting 6 home runs in the series.

Well Kap, while that's a good thing, the Cubs can't rely on that alone. They're gonna have to still play fundamental baseball, get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in if they want to carry this success on through the year.

The starters did ok, Travis Wood had the best game out of the 3 and the pen pitched pretty good in this series. Hopefully they can carry this big series win over the Cardinals into Colorado.

Well Holly, your pick to click Mike Olt went 2 for 8 with 1 rbi in 2 games. Who you going with this week?

Well Kap, I'm going to take Anthony Rizzo as my pick to click. He had a great series against the Cardinals and hopefully he can keep it going in the thin air at Coors Field.

OK, well we're out of time here, so let's get you out to Coors Field as the Cubs hit the road against the Rockies
