Re: A Birds' Franchise.....

Smoak has been nice for you...what is his attributes in your franchise? He was up for me batting .179 with no homers so I had to make a trade for a 1B. I couldn't hit at all with him.

Re: A Birds' Franchise.....

Minority Report

Let’s take a quick look at some of the teams with highly ranked prospects. A few of these prospects displayed the want to start the season on the major league roster.

Chicago Cubs 3B, Kris Bryant, has quickly emerged on the big stage at The Show. As we take a look at Bryant’s stats, he has felt extremely comfortable at home batting .352 and licking his chops with runners in scoring postion. Bryant has been a huge part of the Cubs resurgence to the top of their division this season. If Kris Bryant keeps this up and the Cubs get in the playoffs, we shouldn’t be surprised if his name is mentioned in MVP talks.

Houston Astros SS, Carlos Correa, early speculation was that Correa was major league ready, or atleast was going to be by the time September call ups came around. Currently in AAA, Carlos is finding that the struggles are real. Striking out a ton so far with a disappointing average versus righties. Not to mention his 6 errors on the field in 32 games almost makes him a liability on defense. It’s only been two months, let’s see if he can turn it around.

Blue Jays Farm

The Blue Jays seem to have a nice farm system. Most notable and major league ready is pitcher Daniel Norris. At 21 years old, Norris has the stuff to be a future ace. The Blue Jays would like to call him up sometime this season, but would like for him to get some starts in AAA.

Youngster Jeff Hoffman looking to find a way out of his struggling season so far in AA ball. The Blue Jays feel that he is ready for Triple- A. The move up is being considered despite his numbers in AAA.

Around The League

This past week, on May 27th, Major League Baseball had it's first no hitter thrown of the 2015 season. Atlanta Braves pitcher, Alex Wood had the honor of mowing down a good LA Dodger lineup. Congrats to Alex Wood on his first career no hitter!
