Sox Find First Win of the Year with 3-0 Shutout

OAKLAND,CAL -- It's official, the White Sox will not go 0-162 for the 2016 season. They shut out the Oakland Athletics by the score of 3-0 in the third game of the four game series.

The Sox would strike early, with a solo homerun by Melky Cabrera (1) in the first inning. They'd pick up a second homerun with another solo homerun off the bat of Dioner Navarro (1) in the second inning. This was all the run support the White Sox pitching staff would need, as Carlos Rodon (1-0) would go on to pitch 6 shutout innings, striking out 5. Todd Frazier would give the Sox another insurance run in the 9th, with hitting the third solo shot of the night (2).

The White Sox look to end this series at .500 tomorrow, April 7, with Mat Latos (0-0) on the mound up against Chris Bassitt (0-0). First pitch is scheduled for 12:35pm PST.

Latos Pitches Gem as Sox Shutout A's, 1-0

OAKLAND, CAL-- Mat Latos was in cruise control in today's series finale for 7.1 innings pitched, giving up only 5 hits, while striking out 7. The Chicago White Sox shut out the A's for the second time in as many days, winning this one 1-0. The only run of the game came off an 8th inning single of Jose Abreu, who drove in Melky Cabrera. Cabrera had hit a two out double the at-bat before.

The Chicago White Sox pitching staff has not allowed a run in 21 consecutive innings, dating back to April 5, 2016.

The Sox look to go over .500 for the first time on the new year in their home opener tomorrow against the Cleveland Indians, with John Danks (0-0) facing Trevor Bauer (0-0). First pitch is scheduled for 3:10pm.

Yessir, I've yet to manage to actually play all 162 games of a season, and I plan on playing this one for a long time. The Yankees are my favorite team but I'd rather work with a team that can't just go out and buy whatever talent they need every season.

I'm also assuming the carry-over franchise issues will be fixed in time for next year's game

Sox Win Home Opener 4-0, Increase Shutout Streak to 30 Innings

Chicago, Ill -- The White Sox won this seasons home debut to the score of 4-0. Dioner Navarro hit a solo homerun in the 2nd inning to dead center. Chicago wouldn't score again until the 8th inning. Avisail Garcia scored on a wild pitch. Adam Eaton would then double to center, scoring Austin Jackson. Jose Abreu would double later in the inning, scoring Eaton.

The White Sox also improved their scoreless inning streak to 30 innings. The team record is 45 innings. Back in 2013, Miami had a 37 scoreless inning streak, which is the longest in the last 30 years. Chicago will look to break this streak tomorrow, in the second game of the home series opener. Chris Sale (0-1, 5.14ERA), their ace, will be on the mound vs Cleveland's Cody Anderson (0-0). First pitch is scheduled for 1:10pm.
