Tovarich: Good win. Nice round 50 points. Somehow I don't think Murray State coach got the point, but I feel better.

Reporter: Did you need to start full court pressing them with 12 minutes to go?

Tovarich: Correction. THEY started full court pressing. Then I returned the favor.

Reporter: They were down 20 though.

Tovarich: Yep.

Reporter: Did you need to call a timeout to sub your starters back in with 39 seconds to go?

Tovarich: Yeah, that was critical. We finished strong on a nice 7-0 run there in those 39 seconds. I'm just sorry Mbanugo missed the 3 at the buzzer or it would've been 10-0.

Reporter: Do you think you'll ever make the mid-major top 25?

Tovarich: Maybe eventually. I tried to get some decent teams on the schedule and some of them turned out to be pretty disappointing. Sacred Heart and Northern Arizona are both 4-8 so those are both pretty bad. It makes no difference really. We need to win the 3 games in Knoxville or it all matters for nothing.

Baffling to lose to two awful teams and beat Gonzaga, Michigan and Cincy. The record ends up about where it should, just odd how it got there.

For some reason, every time I take my summer break from this game and come back after not playing for 6-8 months, it feels way easier when I should be rusty. It makes no sense to me.

I coach youth sports (middle school aged) and the best practices every year, without fail, are after the kids have had Christmas break or some other 2+ week break. Something about the rest time allowing their brains to be fresher and maybe even "getting mental reps" means we're super sharp.

Given how many years of muscle memory you have in CHoops, I wonder if some of this is you just getting some time and space and coming back refreshed and more focused.

I've been hesitant to bump it up that last notch to the highest difficulty, but even going 22-11 with last year's bums was too easy. Recruiting is so easy on this game, it's hardly a challenge. It's making me want to start brand new.

Tovarich: And with the players I have gotten here so far, they'll keep winning. Even that clown O'Bannon won with my players at Western Kentucky like he's doing with my players now at Georgia. We'll see.

Is it because your charisma+scouting are at A+ level or so? I definitely feel the pain of recruiting with Dinko (C- charisma I think) and Oggy (B- I think) where I lose out on players all the time. If that's the case, maybe set limits on how high certain coaching attributes can get, or how high those attributes are in your assistants?
