Rise to the Top: A Story of 8 NBA Prospects

Welcome to Rise to the Top. In this thread, you will find the story of 8 basketball players as the try to make their way to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

We start our journey on National Signing Day. Our 8 players have been recruited by various schools for years now and have finally made their decisions. Lets see who they choose.

Player: Mike Korz (tmacfan12) C
Scouting Report: Great Size (7ft), Can finish around the basket and rebounds well however can't do much else.
College Choice: SYRACUSE- Yes that is right, Korz is going to be a member of The Orange. With the core Syracuse already has, it is not crazy to think that The Cuse might be National Championship Favorites this year.

Player: Tad Carson (arsenal123gunners) SG
Scouting Report: Tall for a SG (6ft 5), can rebound well and can knock down the mid range J. However, his ball handling is a big concern.
College Choice: MICHIGAN STATE- Tad joins a team that was playing in the National Championship last season. Hopefully he can step in and try and take them back to that stage.

Player:
Adrian Harris (Soonerfan09) PG
Scouting Report: Handles and Passes the ball well, however his speed may be a concern for big time college basketball.
College Choice: UNLV: The Rebels pull in a big signing here as they look to go back to their glory days. Hopefully hey didn't cheat to get Harris like The Shark did.

Player: Josh McDougall (Dynasty Josh) SG
Scouting Report: Lights out 3 point shooter but somehow cant get it going from mid range. His ball handling is sub par and so is his speed.
College Choice: UNLV: Well this is a surprise. UNLV pulls in 2 five stars in one class. The word on the street is that some major schools were concerned that these two players would not be fast enough to compete at a high level. Only time will tell.

Player: Ghost Watson (TheGhost215) SG
Scouting Report: Lightning fast, can finish and pass with the best of them. Cannot, however, shoot with the worst of them. This guy's shot makes Rajon Rondo look like Ray Allen.
College Choice: VILLANOVA: Ghost will be mentored by Scottie Reynolds this season and will become a better player because of it. Hopefully he will work on his shot as well.

Player: Adrian Hines (AD2084) SF
Scouting Report: Can hit the mid range shot, can finish, and play defense. However really does not have the guard skills to play in the NBA right now. Really needs to work on that in college.
College Choice: NORTH CAROLINA: Adrian joins a UNC team that will desperately need his help after losing all of their starters from a National Championship team.

Player: Michael Perry (Michael321) PF
Scouting Report: Can block, rebound, and score inside but really struggles everywhere else. If he can develop a mid range shot before going to the NBA he will be deadly.
College Choice: DUKE- Duke desperately needs big men and they get a great one here. The Big 3 will really benefit with having a big guy that they can give the ball inside.

Player: Jason Tinsley (AnybodyKilla) PF
Scouting Report: Great ball handler for a PF, could be a SF if he could shoot. Crashes the boards well and always seems to come up with a SportsCenter type dunk.
College Choice: SETON HALL: The Hall has been struggling for the last few seasons but that is now a thing of the past. Jason will step in and bring them back to the NCAA tournament.

*Prospect's team

So 5 of our 8 prospects are currently playing on ranked teams. UNLV and Seton Hall are not ranked but look like NCAA tournament teams. North Carolina is extremely overrated (83 overall) as is UCLA.

Here are the starting lineups for our prospects' teams in the upcoming season.

Syracuse (90)
PG: Brandon Triche
SG: Andy Rautins
SF: Wesley Johnson
PF: Arinze Onuaku
C: Mike Korz*

Michigan State (89)

SG: Durrell Summers
SF: Raymar Morgan
PF: Delvon Roe
C: Garrick Sherman
*Tad Carson- 7th Man

UNLV (80)

SF: Chase Stanback
PF: Darris Santee
C: Matt Shaw

Villanova (90)
PG: Scottie Reynolds

*Ghost Watson-6th Man

North Carolina (83)
PG: Larry Drew
SG: Marcus Ginyard
SF: Adrian Hines*
PF: Ed Davis
C: Deon Thompson

Duke (89)

PG: Jon Scheyer
SG: Nolan Smith
SF: Kyle Singler
PF: Michael Perry*
C: Mason Plumlee

Seton Hall (85)
PG: Eugene Harvey
SG: Jeremy Hazell
SF: Robert Michell
PF: Jason Tinsley*
C: John Garcia

And finally, lets look at everyone's Pro Buzz
Mike Korz: 2nd Round
Tad Carson: 1st Round
Adrian Harris: 1st Round
Josh McDougall: 2nd Round
Ghost Watson: Lottery
Adrian Hines: 2nd Round
Michael Perry: 2nd Round
Jason Tinsley: 2nd Round

So right now it looks like Ghost Watson might leave as a freshmen. His electrifying speed really caught the attention of pro scouts during his high school years. How will he do in college?

I asked for only big men after a certain point and you posted a PG.... a guy got in after you because he posted a PF. It was no offense to you but we had enough guards.

Btw guys a few things about this.

1- I am going to sim this in2 parts during the season (Non Conference and Conference) Then have a Conference Tournament one and 2 NCAA Tournament ones. The 2nd NCAA one will be a Final 4 update with end of season awards and such. This fast paced style will allow us to finish quite a few seasons.

2- The rosters are not perfect. I edited a few of the big teams but teams in the MWC and A 10 are really not represented well.
