Louisville Pirates - Sailing Into Greatness (2K10)

T-Wolves On The Move

The Minnesota Timberwolves, a team plagued by mediocrity for the past decade, have finally decided a change was in order; a big one I might add. After having the worst record in the NBA during the 2009-10 season, the Timberwolves were sold to millionaire Austin Isom who has decided to relocate the team.
"I think we need more than just a great draft pick or a new stadium," stated Isom in a press conference. "We need a new atmosphere, a new fan base, and more importantly a new look. That's why I've decided to move the Timberwolves."

Ever since the early 90's, the T-Wolves have been one of the many teams rumored to be "on the move." Well the time has finally come, but could it be a case of too little too late? We'll have to wait until the 2010-11 season to find out.

All the details are to be announced within the next few days.

I'll post the new team details later along with overviews of the 2009-10 season and the 2010 off-season.

Re: Louisville Pirates - Sailing Into Greatness (2K10)

Just two days after announcing the relocation of the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA franchise, new owner Austin Isom has released the teams new details.

The team will be based in Louisville, Kentucky, and will be sporting orange and black team colors along with a pirate as the new mascot. Louisville was once a front runner for the Vancouver Grizzlies, but lost out when the team was sent to Memphis. The city was also mentioned when the Hornets were looking for a new place to call home in 2001. Isom stated in a press conference earlier in the week that he was excited for the start of the season and promised that things would be different.

The team's new logo can be seen below.

LOUISVILLE PIRATES

(Yes, I relaize the colors of the P & L differ from that of the actual colors, but its the only orange I could choose.)

The only thing returning is the 14 man roster, but rest assured some changes will be made.
"We have a good young team, but some changes are definitely needed before we begin to even think about playing." Isom also stated that this off-season was going to be a busy one, but one that will pay off in the long run. So can the newly formed Louisville Pirates make an impact in the upcoming season? Only time will tell.

Looks good. I think that the T-Wolves should move in real life. I moved them to Las Vegas in my Dynsaty.

Turner should be a good pick for you. SF is sorta the big weak spot for the T-Wolves/Pirates..

Question though I didn't see Wesley Johnson (Syracuase) in your draft..

Also I see that you show A. Stoudamire declined his option or the Suns did, but I didn't see where you listed if he signed anywhere??

Trouble in Louisville?

After the relocation of the Minnesota Timberwolves to Louisville, Kentucky, things seemed to be shaping up for the team that has been considered "bad" for quite some time. With new owner Austin Isom hiring a whole new coaching staff and bringing in two of the highest rated college prospects, the newly formed Louisville Pirates seemed to be on the rise. It wasn't long before those dreams were shot. In the 2010-11 NBA Pre-Season the Pirates finished with an 0-8 record causing a state of worry to arise. Austin Isom held a press conference to shed some comfort to the fans.

"I know I said that things were going to be different and we were going to be a better team, and I know it looks like I lied, but honestly, I didn't. We have a lot of young talent on the team, and the key word there is young. It's going to take some time for the rookies to blossom and we're still waiting on a few others to do so as well. This season probably isn't going to be a winning one, and maybe not even next season, but everything takes time. We'll eventually get to the top, but patience is key. I promise that things will start to look up in the future, we just need the fans to give us their support and believe we can do it."

Although the off-season was one to forget, there were some things worth remembering. Evan Turner played phenomenally and looks as if he if going to step into the role of leading the team. Newly gained free agent Sundiata Gaines also showed some potential and showed that he was the perfect backup for starting Point Guard Jonny Flynn. Starting forward Corey Brewer commented on Gaines saying he was an outstanding worker and he sees Sundiata being a bigger part of the team in the near future.

As for the teams new uniforms, those can be seen following the links below.

I'm pretty sure the one I downloaded was made early in the year, so there are some players that should have been in it that weren't. A lot of them were made up, I didn't realize it until half way through the draft or I would've picked another draft file.
As for Stoudemire, he resigned with the Suns. I accidentally simmed past the resigning period after I resigned my players, so I didn't get to check all those out.
Oh, and Evan Turner was definitely a nice pickup for us. I put him at SG and moved Corey Brewer to SF.
