Juan Dixon didn't take long to show that Allen Iverson and Kwame Knowles are not the only offensive jauggernauts in the league. Dixon put on a performance Friday night, with 44 points against LA, 33 of which came in the second half.
LA and Toronto were tied at 49 at the half, but a huge second half lead to a final of 123-111. Toronto just missed out on 125 points, which upon reaching during home games, fans in attendence recieve a coupon for free concessions at the next game.
Toronto struggled with LA most of the game, and did not start pulling away untill the fourth quarter. "LA is not a bad team, they are an 0-3 team, but their better than their record, they are going to beat some good teams this year" Said Toronto Coach Adrian Wong. Toronto had big performances from Royal Ivey, who in his first career start, recorded 14 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds, going 10/12 from the line. Rookie Al Thornton scored 23 points, but just one of those came in the second half, and he played just three second half minutes. Al Jefferson played 17 minutes before leaving the game in obvious discomfort, he recorded 3 rebounds and no points. The big surprise of the night was Rasha Nesterovic, who scored a career high 21 points, along with 11 rebounds and 4 assists.
Los Angeles had 4 players in double digits; Hayes (18), Devin Brown (18), Jeff McInnis (16) and Fred Jones (22), but failed to keep pace offensively late in the game. Paul Brown nearly recorded a second straight double double, as he scored 9 points with 13 rebounds. Just two LA players played more than 30 minutes, an obvious coaching decision that left LA cold offensively at times.

With the crowd louder than ever at the Pepsi center, The Denver fusion sparked a 10-2 run to finish off a great 4th quarter performance and send the visiting Dalles Mustangs home dissapointed. With the score sitting at 94-85 with 3 minutes to go, Denver would use key scores from Mike Dunleavy, Dequan Cook and Joel Przybilla to close out a successfull home and season opener. "After losing 8 of 9 to end last year and missing out on the playoffs by a game, there is no better way to open our season than with a good, quality win, with a strong finish." Said starting SF Mike Dunleavy, who scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Denver had a lineup of ironmen however, as four of their five starters played over 42 minutes (out of 44) and Eddie Griffin played 33. Denver got a huge push from Rookie De'quan Cook, who scored 41 points in a shooting display unrivaled in the game. Stephon Marbury made his debut with the franchise, scoring 12 points, dishing 9 assists and grabbing 6 rebounds, however he shot just 6 of 19 from the field.
Dalles debuted their hopefull franchise savior, Small Forward Rookie, Eric Nash, who scored 33 points and grabbed 11 boards in one of the better rookie debut's we have seen. Plus Nash played just 34 minutes, sharing time with Erick Williams and Greg Buckner, who were not nearly as effective.

Sacramento starting SF and former Slam Dunk Champion has said he has already started working on his moves for this years All-Star Dunk Contest. The former NBA slam dunk champion lost to teammate Desmond Mason last year (at the time Mason was playing for Chicago) but Green says this year he is bringing his A-game.
"Desmond has been teaching me a lot about baseline dunks, and I feel like I have a couple dunks that are 50's already." Said Green.
Mason opened last season with a vicious baseline dunk, coming from behind the hoop, while twisting his body 180 degrees and making an up and under jam that set the tone for the night. Mason would eventually win on an acrobatic behind the back dunk.
Green has become the first ABF player to commit to the contest, though Sean Williams mentioned last season he was toying with entering, and Alando Tucker has thought about entering as well. Steve Francis has said he won't return to the contest this season, and Houston Small Forward Ricky Davis has said after a try in the NBA's dunk contest and a try in the ABF contest, that he is done.
Other players that many people would like to see are Rookie Eric Nash, who once competed in a high school dunk contest and is known for his ariel finishes. Some say they would like to see Kwame Knowles, while others say that veteran and one time NBA contest winner Brent Barry of Milwuakee should go out for the contest.
For this chise I'm using NBA Live 2008. I use the season mode to customize the league down to 16 teams, and do all of the off season stuff and statistical work on my computer. I am going to get this running again, it just depends on when I feel like picking it back up
