Raptors Resignings

The Toronto Raptors chose not to extend offers to any of their players with expiring contracts. They had wanted to get a contract done with SG J.R. Smith but he chose to test the Free Agent market. The Raptors are letting six players walk in total (Smith, Maynor, Williams, Banks, White and Deandre Jordan).

Raptors 2011 NBA Draft

Raptors Trade PF Ed Davis to Golden State for the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft and the Warriors 2012 first rounder.

Raptors draft PF Perry Jones from Baylor with the second pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Raptors draft SF Terrence Jones from Kentucky with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Raptors draft C Jared Sullinger from Ohio State with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Raptors trade PF Boris Diaw to the Suns for the fifth pick in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft and the Suns 2012 first round pick.

Raptors draft PG Corey Fisher from Villanova with the fifth pick in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft.

Raptors draft SG D.J. Kennedy from St. Johns with the 27th pick in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft.

Raptors Free Agency

Raptors resign PF D.J. White to a 2 year 2.5 million dollar deal.

Raptors extended an offer for SF Carmelo Anthony but he chose to sign with the Nets.

Raptors sign PF Thaddeus Young to a 4 year 41 million dollar deal.
Givens on Thaddeus: "We love what he brings to the club. He's not afraid to get dirty and grab some boards and can give us a really nice player off the bench. He will be playing behind Terrence Jones who will be the starter at SF but Thaddeus will get ample playing time."

Raptors sign PG Patrick Mills to a 2 year 8.7 million dollar deal.
Givens on Mills: "Well we obviously needed some depth after we let Eric walk in Free Agency. We actually extended Eric an offer but I guess he didn't like the numbers so we looked elsewhere. Patrick is a player who we can bring in to spell Ish and still have a threat at the PG position. He can shoot the ball really well and he can make some plays with his passing. We're really excited to have him in Toronto.
