Before the 2010-2011 season kicked off, Spurs owner, Peter Holt invited GM, R.C. Buford and Head Coach, Greg Popovich to address this years team.
Holt: Alright guys the new season is just a few days away and I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on what will happen this year.
Popovich: What exactly do you mean?
Holt: Well it's no secret this team is on it's last leg so if this year doesn't go according to plan then I am ready to disassemble the team and start planning for the future.
Buford: Are you suggesting trading Duncan?
Holt: Yes him and Ginobili, Parker, Jefferson and pretty much anyone who can get us something good in return.
Buford: With all due respect sir but I don't think getting rid of our veterans is a good idea for this club. I mean it makes it look like we aren't loyal to our players. That is something we are known for.
Holt: I understand that but this is a business first and if these guys can't win a championship then it's time to bring in guys who can. I will evaluate the team and if they are doing good then I won't fire sale this year. If you guys win the championship this year then you guys have bought the players 1 more half season. Also guys don't mention this to anyone or it will be your head.
Popovich and Holt together: Yes sir.
So with that said that will be how the dynasty will go. I will simulate the first half of the season and if the Spurs do well I won't make any major trades this year and it will pick up after the trade deadline. If they struggle this year than I will disassemble most of the team and try to rebuild. Then I will sim the 2nd half of the season and pick up in the offseason.
As far as the games go I will play 1 maybe 2 game(s) a week of the season because I can't sit there and play all 82 games. I will do end of the month recaps of standings and some stats when I actually get going.
