Re: Rip City: Moving Forward | A Portland Trail Blazers Association (NBA 2K12)

Were You in the Joint...
The night LaMarcus Aldridge scored 55 points?

New York City, NY -- For years Madison Square Garden has been the grandest stage to display one's athletic prowess. There's been countless memorable basketball moments in MSG and last night LaMarcus Aldridge added another one to the annals of basketball lore on the hallowed hardwood of "The Garden". Aldridge dropped 55 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Blazers 111-105 victory over the Knicks. Aldridge got his 55 by shooting 59% from the field and 85% from the free throw line on 13 attempts.

"He got going early and we just kept going to him. It was nice to see the unselfishness of the other players who were willing to feed the hot hand. I think he had almost 30 at halftime and, nearly matched that in the second half. It was the most amazing performance I've personally witnessed in all my years around the NBA." -Blazers head-coach Nate McMillan.

Only two other Blazers scored in double figures as Wesley Matthews scored 13 points and Jamal Crawford added 11. It was enough, though, to overcome a 30 point effort by Carmelo and 105 from the Knicks to notch the team's 19th win on the season, and improve their record to an NBA best 19-3.
