Re: WE BELIEVE 2K13 - Golden State Warriors

Despite Big Performances By Stuckey, Knight, Warriors Beat Pistons 93-86
David Lee Has 5th Straight Double-Double
OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Warriors seem to have developed a trend, letting two players light them up and playing sound team defense on everybody else. This was definitely the case tonight against the Piston. Rodney Stuckey and Brandon Knight combined for 53 points, 5 steals, 4 assists, 2 blocks and only 3 turnovers, but the rest of the Pistons squad was virtually ineffective. Greg Monroe went 2-12 in the contest, being blocked by both David Lee and Andrew Bogut on multiple occasions. David Lee, never known for his defense, seems very pleased with his defensive work in the season thus far.
"I feel great. I worked out a lot in the off season, on my legs, to get my vertical back to what it was in high school. And it had paid off, blocks are a little easier, my jump is a little quicker. You just love to see as a player, improvement on your game. You see the hard work paying off in front of you." said Lee.
Some local media outlets had portrayed Richard Jefferson as having a "conflict" with rookie Harrison Barnes' role in the offense. Jefferson, on multiple occasions has stated this is simply not the case and might have put the rumors to rest tonight. On a fast break, Richard Jefferson was controlling the rock with Harrison Barnes trailing him and only Detroit guard Brandon Knight defending. Barnes kicked it into another gear and got a break on Knight as Jefferson threw a masterful alley oop which Harrison Barnes threw down with emphasis. The crowd was electric as Detroit called a timeout. FSN Bay Area announcer Bob Fitzgerald was quoted as saying, "That was so symbolic ... after everything that has been said, to see the team play between the two, is a great sign for the future of this team."
